The next Zelda needs more of an Animal Crossing touch to it

Not completely but just so that you like use your house more and you can talk to people in the villages more. And more shops! And realism like people not mindlessly walking around, people actually look like their doing something; you get me? What do you think?

Thumbs up

Well, I think the only part of Animal Crossing you're talking about is the interaction. But I think that's an interesting idea, except you shouldn't have key NPCs moving around. Maybe you could get bargains for potions from other villagers?

Yeah, I know. I have yet to play Majora's mask too.

During that clock countdown thing I was sorta hoping it was an Animal Crossing: Hyrule DS or something. Even if it wasn't a canonical game.

I've been hoping for something like that, actually (not the Animal Crossing, just the interaction/town upgrde). And throw in more towns too. In real life, people expand to way more than just 2-3 villages. They build empires and milk the country for all it's got. There should be towns (or at least huts) every so often across the plains.

**** yeah. I just got the golden watering can in WW. It'd be nice to have more personalization, regardless of what it is.

I definitely agree

Basically take the idea they had with MM, and REALLY expand it

more interaction, more villages, more people, more sidequests, more character to the world

Majora's Mask has that similar feature with people getting up and walking around.

I like the idea, and it should really work well for a realitsic Zelda.

And wow... My 5,555 post.

Re: The next Zelda needs more of an Animal Crossing touch to it

It could use the Animal Crossing touch as far as environment manipulation is concerned; to be able to cut down and plant new trees, for there to be changing seasons, etc.

They had apparently planned to do this with Zelda OOT when it was still on 64DD - it was to use a real time clock, pots that were broken stayed broken, footprints in sand stayed in the sand, a cut down tree would forever be cut down - every change to Hyrule was permanent.

Oooooohhh....okay. I didn't know, never played any Animal Crossing.

That was a typo/technical error. Dang my keyboarding/technical skills (or lack thereof).

Re: The next Zelda needs more of an Animal Crossing touch to it

Actually, if you think about it, there is a lot of Animal Crossing similarities in some of the Zelda games.

- Random people walking around throughout different times of the day (In MM and TP only).
- Changing seasons? (Never played Oracle of Seasons, so I wouldn't have a clue).
- Cutting grass and other vegetation for rupees and items (in AC, you find furniture, money, accessories and bees nests. =/)

Well, I've only picked up those similarities, but there are many others.

Other games are like that on the gaming market to create more realism to their games.

Re: The next Zelda needs more of an Animal Crossing touch to it

It would be cool if you could have a more lived in feel in Hyrule, like having more villagers, or even abandoned/ destroyed houses scattered around that could be taken over by beasts or something.
It would also be cool if you could a bigger sense of consequence during game play, being able to choose how you would react to a conversation (keep talking, walking away, or outright attacking. Something like that) or if you do walk away from a conversation, have that person being offended...
And having more shops, which sell bizarre potions that ups your attack, but lowers your defence... That would be interesting...

Re: The next Zelda needs more of an Animal Crossing touch to it

What annoys me a lot about the Zelda world is that there is only like 2 human cities, including the capital. I've said it before, people expand. Humans don't stay content with 2 cities, they build enpires, or colonize, or at least make their cities bigger. And since the other tribes at least have human intelligence, I'm pretty sure they'd do the same. Would an Animal Crossing touch fix that?
