Legend of Zelda: Onslaught of Evil
So we know pretty well know the opening to Wind Waker and the story surrounding it, how the flood consumed Hyrule as a final countermeasure to Ganon's power. And we also know about the Valley of the Flood issue, how we all questioned the article's legitemacy and possibility.
Now, I have an idea, that came to me a little while ago. It's a bit underdeveloped and I haven't thought everything through, so don't hit me for the idea lacking substance. What you are about to see is not a finished game idea, but rather a beginning of what could potentially be a great game to fill in the gap of the flood. A few things to know about this game: (about as far as this thread is going to be for now at least) This Link is female. Now I know this made the idea 60% more unpopular, but it's part of the reason she wasn't recognized as a hero. Sexism exists in Hyrule, as would any other society in its earlier days. She also neglects to wear a cap, but is indeed under Link's bloodline and wears the tunic. Her looks will not be overplayed similar to the likes of Samus or Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), but she will be female. I'm not huge in that movement, but I think the idea is just fine and will work nicely. I have no idea for female Link's name. So don't complain or ask me about it. I'm not sure if it will be in a steampunk era. Steampunk is still an area which has not been too heavily explored, and still feels fresh and new to a player. I'm leaning towards the idea of having it steampunk to change up the monotony, but there's difficulty in explaining how the technology downgrades to Wind Waker's level. Ganon will be the main foe, and there will be no Master Sword to defeat him with. Instead he will have to be held off in some way. I'm contemplating the idea for having a real-time flooding effect over Hyrule. Could make the game more interesting, and could have the "rush effect" similar to Majora's Mask. This Link will use some sort of gun. I'm favoring towards a musket-type pistol, used for a quick Z-target or a finisher to a perfect combo. Keep in mind muskets are innacurate and take up to a minute to load, one shot at a time. But even then, the power is astounding. A more serious plot will be involved, and cel-shading will not be used. A Twilight Princess-type graphical engine will be put to use, in addition to using the full potential of the Wii's hardware. This game will look very pretty, and very dark. That's all I have for now; I'd love to see some creative ideas and constructive criticism.
