Zelda: What if?

What about Zelda: what ifs? Do you think it would be a good idea? Say Oot, Link had failed to defeat Ganon, and in the after math, you must do several other things, including side quests, and then you have to beat Ganon, and get it right this time? whadaya reckon?

i mean come on if you failed this time then there would be the game: Legend of Zelda Link failed but his son is going to kick ganons ass

Depends really, on what game i suppose.

i've had an idea for a while that i thought would give the zelda games alot more replay value what if there were areas in zelda games that were completely unrelated to the main story and you had to find them yourself such as a secret civilisation in the woods or maybe getting to leave hyrule what you guys think.

I was just thinking of something like this when I posted in the 3D Link to the Past thread, but I didn't put my idea in full...

What I was thinking was, what if a new incarnation of Link, sometime after Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, must be sent back in time to make sure that the events of a Link to the Past actually occur? Hence, the cameo appearance of the 3D LttP. It could involve having to trick Agahnim into being Ganon's puppet - grim, but what if the alternative was even worse?

The first time that Link tried to kill Ganondorf in WW, he failed. He then had to complete some more dungeons and other things. If Link was able to kill Ganondorf with the MS right away, then the game would have ended.
