More Serious Zelda

Well This thread was closed for no reason so continue the discussion here please.

I would love a darker Zelda MM was amazing how the threat cause the atmosphere to feel. Add a few more creepy cut scenes like in TP and sign me up.

Re: More Serious Zelda

Yeah, it would be cool for the next Zelda game to be more darker than others. Like alot of twists and turns in it could make it great.

There are two timelines(Child timeline and adult timeline) and one extra parallel world(as we see in LA(Koholint),MM(Termina) and PH(Oshus world). It's possible to get (e.g.) from the Child Timeline to Adult timeline by passing another portal that leads to whatever(LoZ for example).

Re: More Serious Zelda

I'd love a more mature Zelda, but I don't see good ol' ninty doing it - it would conflict with the family-friendly BS they've been doing lately.

TP is T-rated, though. The N64 Zelda games are more deserving of the T-rate imo, TP is more E-rated to me.

MM was dark enough IMO, needn't be more serious than that, really.

Yeah... until they turned nearly all of the blood into blue and green.

Oddly enough, my game seems to be a mix of all three colors.

Re: More Serious Zelda

Well, the Zelda series isn't meant to excessively "creep you out". And there's also a limit as to the level of seriousness the series is able to convey without pushing its boundaries.

lolwut

I don't think Zelda needs to be more serious. I'm fine with the atmosphere it has now. But I wouldn't mind some more trippy visuals like in Majora's Mask.

Just read my fanfic. The link's in my sig. It has some of my ideas on a dark, good Zelda game.

Re: More Serious Zelda

Maybe some of Majora's psychedelic 'seriousness'.

But not the usual /wrist seriousness, heh.

The series needs some direction and darker seems to work. I love Zelda but it needs a new flavor to stay relevant.

Re: More Serious Zelda

If nintendo would just make the game serious rather than look serious -eg TP- we could really get something. The series really needs to head in a darker direction storywise but artwise, not so much.

Re: More Serious Zelda

A game like MM would be amazing. I'm so tired of the kids table crap... Like WW and TP.

WW was a great game... but the graphics took away from the dark serious side of it all.

OoT and MM were perfect... Then they went all Michael Jackson on us..

Actually, the TP art style was very cartoonish. I couldn't take any of the enemies or characters serious.

You sure "michael jackson" is a good phrase to describe OoT and MM?

I don't get it either.

Wouldn't you need both?

And you know, the more I think about it, the story is plenty dark enough -- it just needs to combine its darkness with more depth.
