The very beginning

I would love if it a future game was set at the very beginning of Hyrule, when the three goddesses descended to create the land. It could explain, for instance, why there are always three recurring characters who are continuously reborn or revived throughout Hyrule's history, corresponding to each of the three goddesses. It could also give more insight into the nature of the goddesses themselves. What do you guys think?

Re: The very beginning

The concept is alright. But I really don't think I would want to play a video game that does nothing but give you a history lesson.

Maybe they could show in the next zelda game why Ganon is able to keep coming back. Then link can totally kill him with a machine gun.

Re: The very beginning

Well, if the goddesses are still there, I doubt there would be any bad guys to fight, so it would be a reletivly boring game. Maybe they could have a short playable segment (say link has a flashback or something), but not an entire game.

Hmm, you made me think.

It could be something like, through the first part of the game, it would be relatively peaceful. With Din, Nayru, and Farore around. Then once they create the Triforce, and leave. Corruption unfolds, as the quest for the triforce begins.

Off topic: Has anyone seen the Zelda TV show, from a long time ago? I've been wondering why there is only Power and Wisdom during the show. No Courage.

It was based on LoZ and Zelda II which didn't include courage.
I don't think courage came along until OoT or ALTTP. I don't know which one though.

Re: The very beginning

I like the idea. For one, it opens up many opportunities for Nintendo to fill in those annoying plot holes. It's also a good opportunity for them to mix things up a bit.

Actually guys, In the OOT Beta game "The Goddesses" actually were there. They surrounded "The Great Deku Tree." Google it or maybe Youtube has it.

LOT.

they were?
OMG, if you ever find that video or those screenshots please give me the Link.
I doubt that a Zelda game is going to tell the VERY beginning of Hyrule, remember guys Miyamoto isn't fan of storytelling.

Re: The very beginning

I think its alright, but it would be better if link probably had a flashback to his first incarnation. Then we play in a dungeon(or sidequest) in that flashback scene when hyrule was first built.

Re: The very beginning

Thanks for the link Link of Twili! Those are some very interesting pictures...I wonder what the goddesses were doing surrounding the Great Deku Tree? Maybe they weren't literally there, but the Deku Sprout was telling Link the story about the three goddesses, and they seemed to encircle Link as the tale was being told and his imagination was transported to the resting place of the Triforce.

Re: The very beginning

Seems like an interesting idea...maybe it could be a game about the war in OoT's history, with a new enemy and everything.

Also, Esper, the Zelda cartoons were made before AoL came out, when there were only two triforce parts. AoL was the game that introduced the ToC.

Actually, Zelda II introduced the ToC

As taken from the Zelda II Instruction Book:

Quote:
You who'll control the Triforce of the future. I shall hand down to you the secrets of the Triforce. There are three kinds of Triforce - Power, Wisdom, and Courage. When these three are brought together, the Triforce will share its maximum power. Of the three, I have left Power and Wisdom in the kingdom. But the Triforce of Courage I have hidden for a reason.
