New Legend of Zelda
I had this hot idea for a New Zelda game...
The name Legend of Zelda: Hero of Shadow I don't have the story but I have some details and ideas... 1)Ganon(The Boar Demon) is revealed to be a "Dark Spirit" in the form of a regular boar, similar to the Light Spirits in Twilight Princess... at some point in the game, he reveals himself to a depressed Ganondorf... He reveals to Ganondorf that he has been dwelling inside him since birth... What happened is that Ganondorf was dedicated to "Ganon" at birth by his mothers Twinrova, who worshipped Ganon and named their son after him... and during some kind of ritual, they allowed "Ganon" to possess their son... and for many years, Ganon lied dormant inside of Ganondorf until he received the Triforce of Power, which then awakened the Dark Spirit Ganon, who then increased his wickedness and power.... When Ganondorf becomes completely enraged, he inadvertantly allows Ganon to take over and possess his body, which explains his transformations. However, Ganon, being a lowly Dark Spirit, is confined to the restraints of a Dark World... he has always longed to gain access to the Light World, so he could rule both the Light and Dark Worlds. But in order to do so, he needs a host (in this case, Ganondorf), who is willing, upon obtaining the complete triforce, to wish Ganon's existence in the Light World... Anyways, Ganon makes some kind of deal to help Ganondorf revive Hyrule and obtain the complete triforce in exchange for wishing him into the Light World. Ganondorf eventually succeeds in obtaining the complete triforce and as promised wishes Ganon into the Light World. But something happens, Ganon the pig fuses with Ganondorf's human form... Ganondorf is transformed to the anthromorphic Pig form seen in games such as Loz, Alttp, etc. This is a permanent change, and therefore this explains why Ganon is now a pig instead of human... After the wish, the newly transformed Ganondorf then wishes to be a god. His first act of being a god is to establish his own version of the Master Sword, the Trident, otherwise known as Relic of Shadow. He who obtains the trident will be given dark powers beyond his wildest imagination... Yeah, that sounded corny.... Anyways, after the wish Ganondorf (Now called "Ganon") then begins his destruction of Hyrule. Following his takeover, he seeks to create an army, looking for someone who is deemed worthy to wield the Relic and become the general of his dark army... However, as destiny promises... A hero is born, who during this time, grows up in a world where Ganon rules... somehow recieving a telepathic message from Zelda, learns about the Trident and it's power... somehow in order to defeat Ganon, he must obtain the Trident, but in doing so, transforms him into Dark Link, and gives him control of the Dark Army... Equipping the Trident will transform Link into Dark Link, while putting it away will render him back to normal Link, thus fulfilling the "Two Forms of Link" requirement of 3d Zelda games... In this game link will also be able to control the Dark Army in his Dark Link form, although I haven't completely fleshed out the details... If somebody would like to add to the story, or give me ideas about how the various weapons work, or the characters and their roles in the game, or if anyone can help me make more sense of the story/game, your welcome to do so!!!

Re: New Legend of Zelda
I liked it for the most part, but personally I think if it were done that way, Link should "split" and Dark Link should remain a separate being, representing his dark side and commanding Ganon's army. There are plenty of other more original mechanics that could be used rather than giving the player's character a light and a dark side in gameplay. That's just been way overdone.

Re: New Legend of Zelda
I think your idea is cool, jibbity, but I also think it would be cool if Dark Link was a playable character

Perhaps there could be RPG elements, but only for the war scenes, where you have to gain HP and obtain spells/weapons... This would only be in war scenes, not boss battles or anywhere else ... I don't want to lose the integrity of the 3d zelda franchise. Wow... I just thought of that... that would be amazing... Should the transformations be completely random, or should there be some kind of timer to let the player know when he's about to transform?

I think he was referring to the fact that no one has commented in awhile...

Twilight Princess tied up all of the loose ends, left by the child ending. |

Re: New Legend of Zelda
I like this idea. Except I think that Dark Link should be shown to be the main antagonist throughout the game, even though Ganon is behind him (kinda like the Zant/Ganon thing). But once you defeat Dark Link, you become able to shift between the two forms. Like when you could transform to wolf form at will, except this time it's Dark Link.
