New Zelda by Marvelous Entertainment?

Yesterday Sega started a mysterious teaser page with a pixelated mushroom on it, as it would like to say, "hey, we're making a Mario game, b*tches". The page has a countdown, which ends in 9 days. However, Marvelous Entertainment also started a page with a pixelated countdown on it, which ends in 9 days, and a floating, mysterious artifact with triforces and a feather on it. Woah... look here:

Whatever will be revealed, if the countdown ends, one thing is for sure, everyone will be disappointed, that it's not Zelda. xD But if it is, Marvelous was involved in the creation of the Harvest Moon series, so not the worst candidate for a new third party Zelda developer following Capcom's Flagship (Oracles, Four Swords and The Minish Cap) and Vanpool (Tingle's Rupeeland) to create a 2D or 2,5D Zelda for the Nintendo DS, WiiWare or DSiWare systems.

This better be guaranteed "G", for Grand. I hope SEGA make nothing Sonic Unleashed-esque... Maybe a new platformer both starring Mario and Sonic?

Last time I checked there was about 732000 seconds left on the count down.
60 sec = 1 minute
3600 sec = 1 hour
86400 sec = 1 Day

So with that said, there's less than 8 days, 11 hours, and 20 minutes left on the count down (considering the time I posted this and the time it took me to do the math)

But the Triforce and feather thing looks interesting. It looks like a clock that would belong on somebody's necklace... Hmmm I wonder if this is going to be another time-related game considering the clock is going backwards every 30 seconds (just something to ponder about).

It does seem really interesting. And I am guessing, since it might be a Zelda game, that it'll be another time-based one. They tend to like temporal things... or just whacked out alternate universe things. Or just messing with physics in general.

I'm very, very curious as to what this new "Zelda" really is; and if it really is Zelda, what that means. o__o

Basically the countdowns ends on the same day, where the similar countdown on the Sega page ends (next friday).

If the Zelda game is about time again, I hope it's about daytime specific puzzles and not time travelling like in OoT or OoA. Something like that was planned for the Oracle trilogy, but then got cut out.

I went through the scorce too and dug up some of the Japanese text and translated it a-la Alta Vista instead. I know very little Japanese, I can say "Hello" and write my name. S'about it.

So anyone who can provide better translations would be appreciated.

My Guess :

That's my guess. But I could be very wrong. I mixed the translations between me and what Kankki1 found. I could be very wrong though.

I'll go digging around properly with better translations and what-not later.

Right now, that kinda sounds a little hilarious.

But...

A portable Zelda game would be cool, but Nintendo should really do it by themselves, I think. Capcom did a great job with Minish Cap, though. I don't know about Marvelous. Never played any of their games.

Well let's see. The clock (going clockwise) shows the triforce in full, then the courage piece is missing (ironically the lower-right hand triangle is missing on the lower-right hand side of the triangle-shaped clock...coincidence?), and finally the the triforce of wisdom is left alone. I've got two ideas for a game that would involve a device like this:

Link can summon the power of the Triforce whenever he wants, but only at 30 second intervals at a time. The Triforce of Courage will give him more strength (physically like the Power Bracelets and more power to his weapons akin to the of Power shown in Link's Awakening. The Triforce of Wisdom could show him an insight of what to do in the future (sorta like the visions shown in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time). And the Triforce of Courage could show him a hint (like a cracked wall, or the layout of an invisible floor plan so you won't fall) in a room that wouldn't be visible without the aid of the ToC.

My second idea...well it's a little OUT THERE. We've seen Link travel between 7 years (OoT) and 200 years (OoA), but how about thousands of years? What if we had a Link that could travel so far in the past & future (but nothing sci-fi like) that he actually meets some of the Links of that time era?

I was also really surprised when I saw both of the countdown pages yesterday. I hope the Marvelous page will be a teaser for new DS zelda, if it's for WII then I will be utterly shocked. Still I think that these pages have nothing with Nintendo titles such as Zelda or Mario (at least it's the most probable option).

Keep this thread alive for 7 and a half days. We should find out by then.

I hope it's not Link and Sonic at the olympic games

I really don't expect it to be a new Zelda, but whatever it is, it looks awesome.

You may very well be right. Whoever at Marvelous Entertainment thought of the idea to use the Sierpinski Triangle knew that they'd catch the attention of Zelda fans, and the same would go for the Mushroom for Mario fans.

This really catches my attention. I got to looking at their feather clock thing and noticed that on the bottom two corners, the triforce of courage is seperated from power and wisdom. Either that or first courage was taken out then power in a clockwise manner starting at the top. Or perhaps it's counterclockwise starting with wisdom then power then courage. Perhaps I'm looking too deeply into this, but make of it what you will.

Very catchy. Like BGS said, at first it looked like a piece of necklace, then I looked at it again and it seemed like a key chain, and now, I look at it for a third time and it seems somewhat like a dreamcatcher to me (this last one being the least likely ). What I can gather from this is that each of the Triforce drawings on the face of the clock symbolize how much time is left for the unveiling of the secret, each of the Triangles representing 3 days. The complete triforce meaning 9 days (starting point) , the one missing the ToC being 6 days, and the last one the 3 final days.

As to whether it´s a Zelda Game or not, my guess is as good as anyones, 50-50.

Just seeing those black Triforce on the triangle has gotten butterflies in my stomach. I'd better be careful, trying not to get my hopes up.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I'm actually sorta hoping that it might not have anything to do with Zelda.

I have high expectations for the next Zelda and I only trust Nintendo with it.
