Smile A future(ish) zelda game

The game to start in a future ruled by the Dictator Ganondorf who rules with an iron fist an destroys all those who speak out against him. Link, a young rebel, teams up with others who wish to take ganondorf out. The all rush ganondorf palace and are confronted by a small army of gerudo-looking guards. The rebel leader tells links to go find ganondorf and confront him to keep him from escaping, so link sneaks off in the confusion. He comes accross ganondorf in a large room and he begins to talk to link. "Hehe.. I asume your Link. We were destined to fight here, you know. But as prophecy fortells, i will lose the battle.. " (BTW i imagined the palace to be a large bulding that is built over the ruins of the temple of time. Thats the 'room' he meets ganondorf in.) Ganondorf then gather all this energy and shoots it at link. "My power will be for ever!" Link passes out and awakens some time later. He looks around and notices somethings wrong.. A man on a hore travels by, but horses were to have gone extinct a long time ago! Ganondorf had sent link to a distance past to keep him from interfering with him..

link is sent to a time when hyrule is at peace... but that quickly changes. Ganon is awakened by Links presence and begins to terrorize the land. The king blames links for these happpenings and decides to execute link. Princess Zelda stop her father and tell him of a visin she had the night before, and how link was sent by the goddesses and what not. The king still doesnt trust link, so he sends links to find out what is happening to hyrule.

and then i draw a blank. lol im sorry if this doesnt make any sense, but i just felt like posting up my future(ish) zelda idea

Re: A future(ish) zelda game

I actually like that idea, Ganondorf being the dictator of Hyrule. Where would this take place in the Timeline? Perhaps in between OoT (when link drew the Master Sword), obviously cutting out the other parts.

Re: A future(ish) zelda game

so... what, the game starts in a Hyrulian dystopia under Ganondorfs rule, Link gets sent back in time (obviously with the task to prevent Ganondorf's reign), but indirectly causes the first domino to fall in the chain of events that led to Ganondorf's dictatorship?

Sounds good to me.

Re: A future(ish) zelda game

i thought this would satisfy people who do not want a zelda game in the future and those who do.. perhaps part of the game could take place in the future so you could see the diference between old hyrule and new hyrule.. but ill come up with something at a later time

Re: A future(ish) zelda game

With the horses being extinct, that is actually happening in TP. You only see three horses in the whole entire game. That of Epona, Telma's grey horse and Ganondorf's black horse.

In Ocarina of Time though, it's a different story.

Re: A future(ish) zelda game

Sounds interesting. But the plot seems kind of shallow. You should add onto it a bit. But its good nevertheless. I'd definatley play it. It's Zelda after all isn't it? XD

Re: A future(ish) zelda game

"Horses died out of natural causes" - Hylian Sausage Enterprises.

But really, making a future setting with a future Link, and then sending him back to the past is . . . eh, just silly.
Why waste time making something futuristic, when you just end up in the past? Just stay in the future or the past.
