The final boss fight of the next Zelda game should be the hardest and funnest of all of the boss fights. But what kind of fight should this be exactly?
Should it be the kind of fight where Link has to cause the boss to be in a vulnerable state so he can hit him with his sword for a few seconds? An example of this would be Bongo Bongo from
OoT. Link has to shoot arrows in its hands and eye and then he has just a few seconds to get as many hits as possible in its eye.
Should it be the kind of fight where Link can hit the boss as many times as he wants but has to watch out for its attacks? An example of this would be Ganon from
alttp. Link can hit him many times without needing to make him vulnerable, but he does need to avoid all of his powerful attacks.
Should it involve magical tennis as I like to call it? This is where the enemy creates a ball of magical energy and launches it at Link. Link needs to hit it back at the enemy with correct timing. This was seen with Agahnim in
alttp, and phantom Ganon in
OoT and WW.
Should it be a sword fight? A sword fight would involve fast reflexes from the player to avoid and block the enemies attacks. The boss would have at least one sword too. Examples of these would be Ganondorf in WW and
TP, and Bellum at the end of
PH. Those were the 3-D examples. There's also the example of the 2-D battle with Dark Link at the end of
AoL.
Of course many final boss battles are a combination of these.
These are the most common battle types that I have found in the Legend of Zelda series. Which one do you want to be the next kind of final boss battle? Or do you want a new kind of fight? I myself want some kind of sword fight.
