What do you think ... could this be what they do with Wii Zelda? ... A Magic Wand?

I've been thinking about it... and I thought that a "magic wand" or something of that sort would be a perfect item to take place as the centerpiece for the next story eh? The wii mote could be said "wand" and depending on how you shake the wand different magical things happen right?

So if you do a little circle near an immovable object perhaps you can make the object levitate and move the wii mote around and it will follow.... like pull a big rock in teh way of a cavern out of the way and then dump it to the side or on an enemy and use it as a weapon.

It could, as you collect things from duengons, gain powers. Like the ability to freeze stuff if you do this motion... or spew fire with that motion, etc.

Maybe you could turn enemies and people to stone with it? Maybe it could be used to levitate Link, etc. etc.

The use of a magical wand as the main item of the game would make for lots of puzzle ideas and give you something interesting to do with the wii mote. What do you think?

that is a great idea but the only reason i dont think they would use a wand as the centerpeice is because they already did that in Wind Waker in a way. i kno they do different things but they wouldnt use a wand as the centerpeice again. but it would still make a great item and utilize the wii motes controll

Interesting use of the Wii Remote, but it sounds a lot like Ōkami if you ask me.
But I'm sure they will include something like that... but I can't see it being the new "Master Sword".

You are talking about a Baton. Not a wand. Though they look alike, a wand and a baton are two different objects.

It sounds like it's delving too far into magic for a Zelda title. I think swordplay should really remain the main element.

Swordsplay is better, but the thing i want about magic is to be more used, like casting spells(like in OOT, dins fire, etc.), but not changing link into a wizard.
I would like to see more magic in the next zelda game, but not changing it into a magical game. If anybody wants a magic game with wands and stuff, play harry potter.

The wand wouldn't be a weapon per say... it wouldn't be replacing a sword. It would be used like Din's Fire or whatever... it would be used to get past certain puzzles... it wouldn't be a weapon though it could possibly be used during battle to reveal a weakness...

I didn't mean it would replace the sword. Hellz no. NO. I didn't mean Link would be some kind of "wizard" as you guys seem to think I meant.

I simply meant it would be a tool. Kind of like the Cane of Piccori or whatever it was called... but it could do multiple things.

I think its a great idea, and that it would fit easily in a Zelda, because these sorts of items have existed in the past. Many different items like this have been around. The Cane of Somaria, The Dominion Rod, and all sorts of various magical items. In many of the two dimensional games, Link was able to shoot beams from his sword. Done well, an item like this could really compliment the abilities of the Wii-mote.

Good idea, I like it! Just as long as it doesen't resemble those star shaped, cute fairy-wands, eww. It should rather be a sturdy wooden rod, that pulses with magic and epicness and stuff.

And it shouldn't replace the sword, it could be like ocarina or the wind waker, a necessary and useful tool, but not really created for battle. The rod could even have offensive spells, but they aren't really designed to everyday combat, maybe they suck too much magic force, have a long cooldown time or something.

I pretty much wanted a magic staff for the next Zelda game too. Bring back magic and make it bigger than before

But as replacing the sword, no. i had a little misunderstanding because of some posts here.

Well as long as the wand doesn't have too many powers. I don't want it to be an all-purpose item.

Reminds me of The Wind Waker quite a bit...

I like the magical staff idea better. It can be used just like your wand idea, but it won't make Link look like a harry potter.

Here;s some ideas for what you can use this staff for.

1. Hovering an object or enemy. This would replace your boomerang weapon since you can use it to throw an enemy around and give you a few seconds extra since it will be in shock.
2. EarthQuake. Link slams it at the ground to cause an earthquake which will cause enemies to fall down or flip over.
3. Fire, Ice, and Light. This will replace your bowweapon because this staff can fire all three.
Light could be used to control statues like in twilight princess or used to kill enemies.


You should not have all these abilities at once, some wizard should teach it to you one by one.
So good idea?

I like this idea, but i would prefer it to be a special new sword, which could transform into a magic wand. While still bheing able to be a sword.
