Re: Vocal background music.
I think that is a great idea, and they have already sorta done it, but they could make it much better with actual voices. What i'm reafering to is the temple of time, and there have been a few others in zelda games that i dont think were vocal choruses, but sounded kinda like one. I think having that in the game, at approprate times only because you dont want to over do it, would give a very epic and nice sound. It would probably do a good job of keeping you in the game.

Re: Vocal background music.
The song of Hyrule field, if they do make one like this, should be very long. The part of the song that you hear depends on the time of day. For example, if you're in Kakariko village at noon in Hyrule and you step into Hyrule field, the music will start in the middle of the song. Night should have a song too. The night song in TP sounded like it had "oohs" but those were not words. In a great fairy fountain, I think the great fairy should be singing words and perhaps the smaller fairies could be accompanying her. It may be voice acting, but it would be appropriate.

Re: Vocal background music.
I'd be pretty ok with that as long as they didn't say like that many words or whatever. I mean not in English cuase that would be weird. It would be really cool if it was in Hylian! But ya, more like singing where I didn't know what they were saying, just kinda vocal, like operatic. I like this idea though.

Re: Vocal background music.
I don't want to know what the words are when I'm hearing them in the game, but I do want to be able to look up the lyrics on the internet. I wish I could do that with the lyrics in the Final Destination theme from Brawl, but I couldn't find them.

Re: Vocal background music.
I wouldn't mind latin, but to have music with my native language (in my case english) playing in the backround would be really distracting for me.

Re: Vocal background music.
Vocal music would be fantastic as long as its not English or Japanese. Though I believe that Latin is beginning to get a tad overrated, I think it is very appropiate for the LoZ series. I would love the Great Fairy's/ Main Menu theme to have Latin vocals and sound something like this:
YouTube - ENIGMA MCMXC Back to the Rivers of Belief: Way to Eternity It would be so epic. Also, the song above reminds me a lot of the Chamber of the Sages. I believe that Koji Kondo may be inspired by the group Enigma since a LOT of the recent LoZ music somehow ends up sounding like Enigma music. |

As for the singing Great Fairies, I think they're necessary. Navi's annoying words and OoT's creepy Great Fairy laughs have probably made people think that a fairy's voice would sound weird. Fairies need to be respected again. They should have beautiful voices that will tell Link when he's close to one of their fountains. Maybe one of the places that Link goes to would be something like a heavenly plane of existence. The background music would sound like the singing of an angelic choir. It would be full of praises to the gods and goddesses. |

Yes, a beautiful clear voice, very pure, with some harp in the back. Fairies should be attractively pure in appearance and in sound.

.Ya, thats a really good idea. I would like it to be more heavenly and less large scary woman with creepy laugh . I did kinda like the ones in WW, they were pretty but I'd like to see something angelic like that in the next game with that pretty music you were talking about.

Re: Vocal background music.
I want fairies and angels to remain separated. Even though they are both powerful and with wings, they are different. Great Fairies should sing to the tune of the fairy fountain music. The words should be about the beauty of nature because you wouldn't really expect a fairy to sing about anything else. Sure, the great fairies often recognize Link as being a hero, but so do the sages, the great Deku tree, the gods, and of course Zelda. It would be kind of weird for them to sing about adventures.
As for the angels, if they ever do appear, I think one of the things that they should sing would be litanies. The angels would sound like they happy to sing their songs. Sages should sing too. It's not enough for some of them to play instruments (or in Darunia's case, dance wildly). They should sing litanies too, but they shouldn't be as joyous. The wouldn't sound sad. Maybe they could sound like something like Gregorian Chants. The translated lyrics would tell the stories of Hyrulean legends. Some of these legends would be unknown to gamers before this game would have been released. Players wouldn't have understood the words at first, but a couple of devoted gamers would have translated the lyrics to discover new legends that would create new theories about many things. I don't want Zelda to turn into a musical. I just want it to come to life a little more. This could do it. This could add to the setting in ways never done before. |

Re: Vocal background music.
Hm, thats a nice idea. It would certainly give us some answers to things. Oh I didn't literally mean angels, I just meant kinda nice and heavenly and fairie like. Good ideas, don't wanna go too crazy with the singing though

Perhaps angels could work in a Zelda game. Or maybe the first room of every temple could look like a real temple with an altar and everything. A few of these temples would look like chapels and even have a choir. Link eventually finds the secret passage in these temples and goes underground. The farther he progresses, the harder that he can hear the singing. If part of the game took place during a Hyrulean holiday, there should be songs that relate to that holiday being sung in the streets of towns. They would be kind of like Christmas Carols. |

As the story progresses the theme of music could change too. An example would be a guy losing a lot of money in gambling or something. (Put him outside a minigame place.) For a good portion of the game he plays sad songs but at one point he plays happy tunes because he won the lottery or something of that sort. (Sounds cheesy but it's the firs thing that popped into my head. ) |

Re: Vocal background music.
Even though I like my own idea, I still think that most songs in the next game should be instrumentals. You just can't replace or change the LoZ theme or Zelda's lullaby. Hopefully, the next game will have many places with many chances to put in music that's old or new, vocal or instrumental. Maybe a new village could be famous for its singers. They would have street performers, a choir in their temple, and other people who thought that they lived in an opera (but not a musical). But if npc's are allowed to sing, then surely they should be allowed to talk. I don't want Link to talk, but I think that this would be another reason to put in voice acting. What's the worst that it could do to the gameplay? As long as it doesn't make me laugh like in the CD-i games, I probably won't complain.
