interesting twist in the over-used storyline

i think a zelda game should be released where when the bad guy grabs zelda. there should be a big cut scene where the bad guy says "you know what, the whole kidnapping thing hasnt been really working that well has it? i think ill just take the triforce of wisdom and kill her"

then link walks into the catle and zelda has been hung, and shes there slowly turning.

(last bit was a joke)
but does anyone agree that they need to try something other than the zelda kidnap thing. and i know that there are games that dont have it, but they are games that dont have her in it at all. and WW doesnt count because shes barely zelda in that one.
can ya dig it?

Re: interesting twist in the over-used storyline

It would be nice to have something besides Zelda being kidnapped. Don't know what they would do though.

Re: interesting twist in the over-used storyline

The reason he never kills Zelda is that she's the best way to lure Link to him. Then again, if he killed her Link would come after him for revenge anyway, so either way Link would face him. Or if Link chose to hide himself, then with the added power of the Triforce of Wisdom Ganon could easily hunt him down. Hmmm...theoretically Ganon could easily defeat Link.

Re: interesting twist in the over-used storyline

The main problem is the "Link is the hero of story, so Ganon could never defeat link" I don't really know bout plots, as long as it's a good game.

This is my 100th post. Happy postaversary!

Oh yeah, and I've always liked the idea of Link getting Kidnapped and Zelda setting out to look for him...

Re: interesting twist in the over-used storyline

Zelda dead !?!? That could seriously change the whole plot of the story, not to mention it's characters. But still, it would be pretty cool if all that Link wanted was revenge.

Re: interesting twist in the over-used storyline

Horrible idea. The Zelda being killed part, at least.

As I have mentioned many, many, MANY times, look at the pattern:

LoZ: Classic Ganon kdinap princess try and get Triforce.
AoL: Something different.

LttP: Classic Ganon kdinap princess try and get Triforce.
LA: Something different.

OoT: Classic Ganon kdinap princess try and get Triforce.
MM: Something different.

tWW: Classic Ganon kdinap princess try and get Triforce.
tWW "sequel": Hmm... gee... I wonder...

Re: interesting twist in the over-used storyline

maybe is zelda died...and everyone is shocked, than link fights to avenge her, so to speak, than once the triforce of wisdom is regained, zelda's spirit can be returned to her body, and yea..i dunno

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm just to tell you, did you forget about OOT where Ganondorf captured Zelda, and planned to capture Link, to KILL them to get the full triforce power! There you have it.

Re: interesting twist in the over-used storyline

Ganon can not use the power of the Triforce of Wisdom is because the only way you can actually use the triforce if all three holders appear at the spot. Then the one who touches it gets their wish granted. Anyway if you count the Phillips CD-i games where link and zelda's dad go missing and she goes off to rescue them. Actually the game doesn't look too bad, the graphics were pretty good too. When Wind Waker was still fresh with the cel-shaded graphics there was a rumoured storyline where Zelda gets sent to hell or something and Link has to find the Golden Ocarin to open the gates of hell to rescue her.

And even better, even it was Ganon kidnapping Zelda, it was a twist, and not 'classic', boring Zeldanapping. In my book, tWW's goes away from the old Zeldanapping-plot.

Re: interesting twist in the over-used storyline

Of course, Zelda would have to be revived, since it's the legend of Zelda, it would be hard to continue without her.
