when i say sequel i dont mean the returnof majoras mask i just mean maybe they should do a story of link after he's grown up after the majoras mask battle and all think about it gilded sword plus adult link......tight.....i mean quite a shallow basis i have but eh itd be kool .

prequel like...........connector between oot and mm maybe explaining the journey link has just given up on at the beggining of mm regarding his "dear Friend"

idk just a thought after i saw the post for windwaker sequels lol

Re: majoras mask sequel or prequel

A prequel would be redundant, as he basically stayed in Hyrule living his life.

Re: majoras mask sequel or prequel

No.

One of the biggest problems with the Zelda Timeline is that too much emphasis has been placed on the Hero of Time -He stars in at least two games, and he's mentioned in at least three others. Nintendo needs to be moving away from that, not stimulating it.

Re: majoras mask sequel or prequel

mmmmm i think i have to dissagree i enjoy playing as the hero of time i realize its much easier to make a new original story line if you make the character not the original like but some new link way in the futureand its also kin of rediculous to think that like 5 different world threatening badguys could pop up in his life time but thats like the dark agesu know .... idk when i play other games that arent the original link it makes me kind of go "aw man" just because he's so ba. anyway i get wat your saying i just like it when its the original link. and to the reduntant comment i would have to say that i disssagree as well if link is basically just living ou this life in hyrule then why does he have a different shield ,why does he still have the ocarina of time, and why does it say he ent on a journey to find a long lost friend

Re: majoras mask sequel or prequel

A prequel wouldn't work because Majora's Mask comes directly after Ocarina of Time. And a sequel... why can't they just come up with new, original stories instead of rehashing older ones?

Re: majoras mask sequel or prequel

The reason nintendo focus on them so much is because they are the first in the timeline and because oot is the most popular.

Personally i'd love another oot spin off, wiiware anyone?

Re: majoras mask sequel or prequel

Actually a prequel would work, but it would involve a new hero, and events that happend before link arrived in termina. Of course then you'd get a million fanboys screaming that link isn't in it so let's just write that down as a very unlikely thing to happen. A sequel, possible, but why bother?

I would like to see the next zelda game more like how Majora's Mask was however. I've always thought it would be amazing if they'd make a week cycle so the NPC's would have a different routine during each of the 7 days, then just repeat. Would require a lot of work but if it was possible to do 3 days on the N64 then i see no reason why it wouldn't be possible on the wii.
No master sword, no ganondorf, a darker story, a lot more sidequests, it would be a welcome change imo. And the world definately needs to feel more alive. Twilight princess felt so dead to me, besides castle town ofc. We've been told the same story plenty of times, altough in different ways, and it works, but only for so long. Rather see a drastic change happening reviving the series then it slowly dying.

Re: majoras mask sequel or prequel

you said why bother??? thats like saying why did they bother to make a sequel to oot 100 years later and call it twilight princess.....i say bother because of all the other reasons you stated........a story line directed away from ganondorf and all that along with numerous side quests and the repeated cycle like you swere saying..............cept maybe have a diferent save system..

Re: majoras mask sequel or prequel

What people do not seem to realize is that even though there are multiple Links, they are in essence the same person being reborn multiple times throughout the timeline. They all have the same ethics and values, why does it matter if one has blonde hair and one has brown?

And no offense to anyone who has, but saying Zelda games are getting repetitive and then asking for OoT Link back is downright hypocritical.
