Ideas for Hidden Skills

I thought the hidden skills in TP was a great idea to spice up the gameplay for a Zelda game. I myself haven't thought of any new moves in particular, but say the next game uses the same kind of concept (hopefully for the wii). If you could describe some new, awesome sword techniques for Link it would be great. Plus, since I think it would be awesome for Link to use a katana, I would like to get everyone's opinions on that, also.

Edit: came up with a maybe good idea. While attacking an opponent with a standard combo, you would be able to lock onto another opponent quickly, and initiate another set of combos. You get to finish the combo you started too, but can begin a new one and be able to stun your next opponent.

It would also be cool to have a combo where you smack them up in the air, they get hang time, and you hit them again as a projectile on a hoard of enemies. You could also use it in sword duels to be able to regroup yourself while your opponent is recovering from the trip and heading towards you from that distance.

Re: Ideas for Hidden Skills

^

Hidden skills rock, and I hope they use that concept and improve on it.

I like the idea of hangtime, if it's done right, it could really add to the epicness of the fighting.

I'm not sure what you meant with your dueling idea... but a dueling feature WOULD be fantastic with the 1:1 motion plus. (new wiimote)

I'm hesitant on the katana, I think it might feel out of place if it's used by Link.

Re: Ideas for Hidden Skills

^^For my first proposal I think I'll need to explain better, yeah. You know how Link does those 4-hit combos everytime he targets someone and goes at it (it's present in WW and TP)? So you do those, and and when your about to do the last hit, you target another opponent and do a sort of dash attack with great range, which will finish the guy you WERE fighting and stun the new guy you put your target on. I think it would look great, too.

I also just thought of another idea. For people that have played Dynasty Warriors, this would be alittle similar to 4th special combo for most characters. Link strikes an opponent, they go up in the air, and you get some hits in when you jump to get him and your floating. It would be a 4-hit combo, and the last hit would send your opponent slaming to the ground, causing an earthquake that'll damage small enemies nearby. Middle-sized enemies (bulbins, tektites, etc.) will stumble.

The design for the katana would have a very western, Catholic-looking design. It would basically be a curved, slightly smaller biggoron's sword, with Link in kendo stance. I think that the katana could be used more for controlled 360-relative fighting perspective (being able to instantly attack at an opponent that's behind you, for example) and swordfights with really good AI. I honestly think that a dual with sword and shield would be like that fight scene in Troy between Achilles and Hector (that sucked, imo).
