Wii Zelda control scheme.

Hello, people. This thread is to discuss the control scheme for the next wii zelda.

I missed being able to control the direction of your shield like in OoT/MM and TWW. That would allow the return of the mirror shield, which I love.

Here are some possible controls for using the shield:

Z- lock on
B- use shield
control stick- aim shield (not locked on) move (locked on)

How does this sound, and do you have any thoughts?

Re: Wii Zelda control scheme.

Yeah. I'd also love being able to reflect attacks with it more. In OoT/MM and TWW, that seemed like an after thought, with reflecting light as the main focus.

Re: Wii Zelda control scheme.

It would be cool if they could actually manipulate the actual movements of the wii mote being the sword and the nunchuk being the shield. I know you would still have to press buttons but it would still be cool, it would almost be realistic

Re: Wii Zelda control scheme.

With wiimotion plus, that kinda thing is possible.

It'd be really cool. I'd like the swordplay to be more than just hitting an enemy a couple of times and killing them. That's hardly fun. Enemies should put up a fight

Re: Wii Zelda control scheme.

Um, Wii MotionPlus, anyone? If you seriously thought they were going to keep the control scheme anywhere near the same as TP, even without WMP, then I pity you. Not only did that control scheme suck, but they had only a year to work on it (a delayed year with the pressure of thousands of fans breathing down their necks). They need to include 1:1 sword controls or they'll piss a lot of people off.

O.K. please tell me you've played LoZ, AoL, and/or ALttP. All of those have enemies that take more than a couple hits to kill. Nintendo is just making the games easier.

I'm not saying that wii motion plus isn't going to resolve this, all i'm saying is it would be really neat if you could actually be the one swinging the sword and the game manipulates the same movement.

Um, yeah, but very few of them can block and even less could use actual weapons on you. You don't need to be so damn obnoxious.

Sorry. The fact that I've seen this type of thread a lot, the fact some people still haven't heard of WMP (which I thought you were one of), and the fact that some people ignore the old games because their old just really got me irritated. I didn't mean to sound so obnoxious.

Despite those two points, their still 10 times harder than any 3D enemy. Oh, and Dark Knuts in LoZ and pretty much every enemy in AoL can block. The ones in AoL also do have weapons and can maneuver like hell.

Re: Wii Zelda control scheme.

well... idk.. harder enemies are great... but nintendo is looking at casual gamers to come into play with this series.. so maybe there should be the difficulty setting on the title menu... but i cant wait for the wii motion plus to be put into effect with the new zelda... if and whenever it comes out..

Yeah, only generally people are right handed (yeah?), and we won't have Motion Plus in the nunchuck.

Did you even hear about the Wii version of TP. They mirrored the game so Link was right handed BECAUSE most people are right handed. They will either do that again or ask us which hand we hold the Wii Remote in.

I honest to God think that Miyamoto is waiting for wiimotion plus to come out to then put up the next zelda game. It would draw more attention to the game and it would revolutionize all the zelda games

Yeah I know about that. I'd buy the GCN version too so it was different if i had enough interest in the game. Either way though, they'll ask which hand - but the shield will still be on the nunchuck side.

i can see that happening.. now that you mentioned it... that would make sense to help publicize the game more.. for that "casual" gamers...
