duel Wielding

I personally think it would be sweet if Link could duel Wield weapons. Set the next Zelda during the actual war and have massive combat situations. Idk i probably will get chewed out for this idea but I think it would be cool. What are your thoughts?

Re: duel Wielding

It would be interesting, but would remind me a lot of Kingdom Hearts 2. I found that somtimes the gameplay wasn't memorable, haha. Um, but I'd like to see(I know it wouldn't happen) Link duel weild both The Master Sword and The Four Sword. That would be the ****, right there.

Re: duel Wielding

You're thinking Halo 2 now, aren't you? Remember this isn't a FPS.
I'd have to disagree:too complicated by some standards, depending the weapon. Say, Deku Nuts and Hookshots. Now, what buttons can you use for each. Motion sensor may be too difficult to control.
and it seems like a stupid idea for Zelda. I sauy just keep it the way it is.

I def wasn't thinking halo 2. more on the lines of kingdom hearts or Legolas when he does it in Lotr.

Re: duel Wielding

There was multiple wars in hyrule, the people didn't just go oh here's our land take it. There had to be a resistance. If it was a game based on one of those wars or a completely different time period in zelda history i think it would be cool t fight in it and be able to duel wiled weapons. 2 swords, deku sticks whatever. Keep the puzzles and all that cause thats myfav part of Zelda games, just make a game where there is more baddies and you can kill them with atyle and two swords

Re: duel Wielding

i acutally think that this is a good idea it would be heaps fun to use two weaps like the master sword (and just saying) a master AXE, dun dun daaaahhhh haha, but back to the matter of fact, link using to weaps would be good as instead of always hiding behind a shield, also if he can still us the sheild

Re: duel Wielding

=/ I don't think so that much. It would be very dificult trying to kill a Master-Sword-only enemy with the Master Sword and something say, an ordinary one. And if it was to use the Wii controls, how would one use both? Another WiiRemote? Much of an uproar for people who have to spend an extra $70 (AUS that is) to play a game.

Besides, how would Link hold his shield?

Not, that being the risk of fighting with more than one weapon.

That being said, I don't think many "purists" would wholeheartedly welcome some innovation to "their" series. I, for one, would appreciate Link being able to use more than one weapon at a time in battle...ah, such rapture!

Re: duel Wielding

That would be cool.
Like give him a rapier and have one on one duels with certain bosses?
That would be awesome.
Maybe whenever you faught a darknut you'd have a duel, of sorts.
The screen would changesort, of.
If you mean dual weilding, that would be good to.
Only if his swords are really thin, like scimitars.
If someone made a fangame where you could play as Link, Zelda, a Gerudo, a Goron, a Twili, a Zora, etc. They better give Gerudos dual scimitars and the sheikah rapiers.
I would definitley download that game.

Would be nice if Link had to fight an enemy with two swords and no shield in a future game.

Re: duel Wielding

I've always perfered the Sword and Shield combo. Buuuut, Link has used two handed swords before (Which makes him completely suck at blocking) So why not have dual weapons.

If you think about it Link is constantly using 2-5 weapons during a fight. (Maybe it's just me) I usually combine hookshot attacks with my sword swipes...and in TWW I'm completely obsessed with attacking with the Boomerang following up with more sword swipes. As long as Link keeps a free hand for secondary cheap weapon attacks I'm happy. I think dual wielding is a bit over done in videogames right now...And I really like how Link thinks outside the box and fights with everything from arrows to fishing rods. xD

It should be a nice new addon on to use 2 swords at the same time...I could see it making the battles a bit cooler...I also think Link's transitions to other items should be faster too, so that I can do a sword combo and randomly wipe out a hammer in mid-combo...Hmmm.

Excellent idea. The ability to change between 2 swords or a sword and sheild would be epic.
FS+MS= Epic.

Re: duel Wielding

Why would Link want to hold two guys with guns pointed at eachother?

Oh you mean duAl wield.

As is: I declare fail. Honestly. No one dual wields, and with good reason. It's a sucky fighting style unless you have daggers or a short sword and dagger, in which case it still sucks just not as bad. I have dual wielded weapons before (swordfighting is a hobby of mine). Trust me: two handed swords are the best.

What's next? Reverse grip sword fighting? (It sucks. Only good for one dash attack and a few blocks).

Using a shield is much better. Plain and simple.

Re: duel Wielding

I don't see any reason why not, but I also don't see any reason why. It's not as if having two swords would really change the combat system, it would still be B to slash and R to block. Someone mentioned Legolas, but in the LotR games, did you actually feel any difference between Legolas and Aragorn? No, it's just a superficial difference, so why bother?

You do realize that LotR was a hack and slash with multiple characters that all fit onto one control shceme produced in limited time with linear levels and so on.

Zelda is not that.

I think he was responding to me. And even if my example isn't airtight, that doesn't change the rest of my post, that it wouldn't impact the controls in any significant way.
