Don't understand
I don't get it. Why is it that if someone says wouldn't and oot sequil/prequil
be very fun? everyone is like " Whats wrong with you, let oot die, oot was great but let it rest" but, someone says mm needs a sequil it is a great plan? I really don't get it mm is realy close to oot but if you say oot in the same sentance as future zelda you get attacked but mm is fine. P.S I am not saying that mm sucks. |

Re: Don't understand
Mostly because OoT and TP have a lot of similarities to ALttP (mostly the formula) and it's getting predictable. People are tired of playing through games with the same structure every time and want something new, which is what MM touched upon (as did every other sequel).

Re: Don't understand
Lol...that's funny. But you've got a point. But by sequel...do you mean a direct sequel or a not so direct sequel. Because according to me most Zelda's are OoT sequels since OoT is usually first in the series timeline. =\ If you mean direct well...MM is OoT's direct sequel so having another direct sequel to OoT would be the same as saying a MM sequel...right?
Honestly if a game comes directly before or after OoT it wouldn't be anything like OoT I'm sure. (Besides returning characters) It's not often that the same thing happens twice within a few years in a Zelda story...If OoT got another sequel or a prequel I would probably guess the game would be more original then past Zeldas...(AKA like MM) Does that make sense? =\

Now, first things first: The reason OoT and future Zelda should not be used in a sentence together unless you are saying "New Zelda will (not) surpass OoT" or something like that is simple. 1) TP fanboys don't want to hear about OoT and try to shun it. 2) OoT is a very high standard to live up to 3) OoT has told a mostly full story that people aren't for some reason interested on totally completing. (Perhaps because searching for Navi wouldn't be much of a quest) 4) OoT has a sequel. It's called MM. 5) If the series ever wants to break this chain of same thing over and over we have to seperate from the past. This includes OoT. As far as an OoT prequel where perhaps you play as his dad and have to help guide your wife and child to safety and at some point split off making for a style of joint gameplay where sometimes you are fighting enemy hordes with your fellow soldiers or running for your child's life could be pretty dang sweet. Why People say an MM sequel is a good idea: Hell if I know. It's a bad idea IMO. Termina's story has been told. If they wanted to make a spin off of something like the Great War of Termina with Ikanians and Garo, I could see that working, but not a sequel. PS: A lot of times when people say OoT and future Zelda in the same sentence it's OoT remake for the DS which would suck.

But I'm a rotten speller myself.(if you have Mozilla Firefox, you can get a spell check add-on and it just spell checks as you write, JUST like in Microsoft Word (you right click and it has all the suggested spelling there)... you probably can get it for IE too, I don't know. But it helps me TUNS) [Back on topic] Tally-chan really said it. OoT was such a revolutionizing game and a fan-favorite so as SOON as something would even SEEM to be trying to compete or follow in it's foot steps , the fans will compare it to OoT and BURN it. (look at TP, a lot of fans hated it, cause I guess they feel it was a OoT wanna be, I don't) So that's why it's better to let it die.

Re: Don't understand
Here's the thing. I'm not calling for a MM sequal, but another Zelda set in Termina. It doesn't have to have anything to do with MM, not even like a mention back to that time when that kid stopped that moon from crashing into our town. A completely new game, with an expanded Termina would be awesome.
