continue both adult & child timelines?

as we all know wind waker continued on the timeline of adult link of OOT, and majoras mask continued on the timeline of the child OOT link.
so....is it possible that ww2 will continue the adult timeline, and that realistic zelda demo is a game nintendo are making to continue on the storyline for child link after majoras mask?
even if it is not. do you think that this timeline should be continued in the future?
ww2 will show us the future of the adult link timeline. but id also like to see what happens to the child link after majoras mask.
there is alot of potential in this for nintendo.
thoughts?

(id also like to see a prequel to WW, where it shows the hero of time and hyrule thriving, then hero of time dying, and the flood, etc etc, anyone agree?)

p.s - sorry moderator people i didnt know whether this was to go into general zelda or future zelda

Yeah, I'd like to be able to see/PLAY!!! that prequel. Maybe they could have us play out a valiant struggle, then we see how everything happened, and then we go through the history of tWW. THEN something new could occur :0)

Or, MAYBE there was something going on behind the scenes the whole time before tWW, after the Flood, though.

Re: continue both adult & child timelines?

I'm not that big on timeline theories, but I'll give this a go. Note that I don't believe in multiple timelines either.

No, we don't all know. There is more than one view on this, not just yours. I believe that there is no "child" timeline, and that Ocarina of Time is followed up by Majora's Mask, and then again by Ocarina of Time.

Again, there's the multiple timeline theory to argue.

While a realistic Zelda would be nice, it has been confirmed that this was not a game, but a tech demo to show off the console's capabilities. There's a very good chance that if we see something with Adult Link in the future it will be done using this style, although The Wind Waker 2 will not be this.

Again, there's the whole multiple timelines debate, but I agree that it'd be nice to find out what happens to Link after Majora's Mask...although he is never seen again after leaving to Terminia, so there's a good chance that he even ended up staying there.

Re: continue both adult & child timelines?

what I would like to see in tWW2 is something like this:
When Link lets say finds a new item that the Hero of Time once used, he will have a flashback (or it could just show us a CGI sequence and forget about tll that memory stuff) of how the Hero of Time used it to fight Ganon/ excape the flood himself.

Imagine this. Link is in a dungeon, just opened a treasure chest revealing the hookshot. when he picks it up the CGI gets cut and shows us a "realistic" Link (the Hero of Time) running through a town as the rain starts to feed the river thats beeing held up by a dam. The dam starts to crack and Link notices a little girl crying in the middle of a road with other people scrurrying to get to higher ground. As Link dashes to the girl, the crack on the dam grows larger and the water starts to run slowly at first, then it gets faster and faster. Link holds the girl under his right arm as he takes out his hookshot with his left and aims at a tree branch. He shoots and both of them land on the tree. Not for long, the tree started to tremble because the dam has completely broken and all the water started to rush throughout the town and ramming into the tree. Link shoots his hookshot towards the roof of a house. When they arrive on the rooftop, the girl looks behind and watches as the tree they were just on gets swept away with the water. Link takes out his Ocarina and calls for the owl (forgot his name for the moment, but im sure you all know who im talking about) and asks him to bring the girl to a safe area. When the owl takes the girl on his talons we can see a small sheild that has been cletched in her arms throughout this time, and that sheild is the same exact sheild Link's (tWW) grandmother gave to him when he began his journey.

Then we cut the CGI scene and go back to the cell shaded (tWW) Link, holding onto the same hookshot and holds it above his head proudly (thats when it will say " You found the hookshot, it can outstretch it's chain to bring you closer to things, use it on a X Y or Z button...blah blah blah blah blah.)

Since Link's grandmother said it was a family heirloom, we can assume that the little girl in Link's(tWW) great great grandmother.
So what do you people think of my idea?

Re: continue both adult & child timelines?

actually, I'd like to see a sequel to Majora's mask. Like some some sort of revenge on young link type of plot. it could envolve masks as well. The masks could have more advanced magic. Young link could have his three shape-shifting masks as well.(zora, deku, goron)

Re: continue both adult & child timelines?

Sear pretty much summed it up, But I have something to add.
That tech demo was made when Miyamoto's team first began messing with the gamecube hardware. This was before Majora even came out. So theres no way they were thinking of making a sequal to a game that wasn't even released yet.

Re: continue both adult & child timelines?

i was pretty sure i read a press thingy leading up to release of WW with myamoto saying ww took place hundreds of years after the adult storyline of OOT. but i guess that doesnt really make sense. then again, how would hyrule know they had a hero of time if zelda took them back to being children and all his deeds as an adult were undone (or at least not remembered). they wouldnt build a statue if link never did anything, and why would they think he had, zelda went back 7 years, and hyrule would have kept on going in normal life. how would they know they had a hero of time. and does link remember his quest as an adult?
id sure like this explained in a flashback or backstory. how good would an opening to the next zelda game be if they had the storyline encompass what happened from when link and zelda were transported back in time. what happened from then until the flooding? how good would a cinema cut scene overviewing that be. and showing the flood.
even if it wasnt in the backstory or a cut scene. i wish they would glance over it a bit in the next story. im really interested in the little bits inbetween.

Re: continue both adult & child timelines?

The fact of the matter is the future continued, so these deeds weren't undone. When Link went back in time, he most likely did other deeds which created a parallel universe, hence creating the Original Timeline and the Future Timeline. So, the future deeds are remember by the people of the future, like those you see in "The Wind Waker", while the past deeds are remembered by the people of the original timeline, like those you see in "A Link to the Past". At least that's how I see it.

Re: continue both adult & child timelines?

I don't believe in multiple timeline, but for those who do, TWW takes place after adult Link, not child, eljakeo.
