Easy, Normal, Difficult

Hey i've viewing the forum for sometime and I've seen people complaining/commenting that Zelda games are to easy.

How about on the next zelda game if there is a difficulty setting for instance you can choose easy or normal and once you completed it you unlock Hard. Maybe the "harder" the difficulty the more enemies or they are tougher to kill.

Views??

Re: Easy, Normal, Difficult

That's what they needed to add in TP.
It's current difficulty is easy.
Hopefully they will think of this system for future games.
Zelda fans crave for challenges!

Re: Easy, Normal, Difficult

I don't want any story altering changes, just harder enemies, harder puzzles, and maybe (just maybe) some extra goodies. I'm a strict adherer to canon, so no alternate cutscenes like in Halo 3. Conflicting the storyline would send the theorizing forums to hell.

Re: Easy, Normal, Difficult

When I bought TP I thought there was an option where you could do that. Unfortunately I was wrong and beat most of the game in a three day run because it wasn't very challenging to me.

No I don't really like having to set the difficulty I just want Nintendo to make them a bit harder like they used to without having to set a difficulty.

It's hard to please everyone - Why not have simple variable multiplier changes that is possible to change with a click of a button? I see no reason to keep it to one seeing as it doesn't exactly delay the game.

Re: Easy, Normal, Difficult

I was thinking about that the other day, too. Seems like a fair-enough idea, I found Zant and Ganondorf a lot easier than I thought they were going to be in TP. As well as the last boss in PH.

Perhaps, even, harder puzzles with a harder dificulty?

Re: Easy, Normal, Difficult

This idea would work out for me. I like Zelda games but I have a low tolerance level. The Pokemon Ranger game almost cost me a stylus and I almost cracked a tooth on my Wiimote during a frustrating moment. I forgot where it was though, Cave of Ordeals when I was trying to get the poe and that freezy guy blasted me?

Plus if we had this option, I'd no longer have to put up with people complaining about how easy the game is since I like easy.

Re: Easy, Normal, Difficult

I don't like difficulty settings, and unless Nintendo did it differantly, I don't imagine that it would work for Zelda.

For one, Zelda is less about combat and more about puzzles. Enemys don't have a complicated AI either. So, seeing as to increase the difficulty of a puzzle the whole thing would have to be reworked, all a difficulty setting would do is increase/decrease enemy/your HP, or their/your damage dealing abillitys. Which, in my mind, is a very artificial way of increasing difficulty and I would rather have an easy game then that. Look at Metroid Prime 3. It didn't get harder per se, it simply got longer, as enemys took longer to destroy.

Besides, who has ever played Zelda for the difficulty? I mean, please, Zelda has never been about the challenge, it's about a) the fun, and b) the charming world.

Now everyone stop whining that the new Zelda could be completed by a monkey, because you have no idea, and that is already true.

If you want to increase the difficulty... do it your self!

just dont get any heart pieces (or fairies) and you will soon be feeling the pinch.

What if you want a challenge but are also a completionist?

Try playing with the controls swapped for Wii, or the controller upside down for GameCube? Play with your fingers instead of thumbs?? Or your toes? =D

Re: Easy, Normal, Difficult

I would like a difficulty setting on the next Zelda. Perhaps less fairys before battles.

And instead of all enemies getting stronger, all enemies get stronger AND Link is weak against certain ones until he learns a skill, or something among those lines.

On Normal and Easy, only 4 Pieces of Heart are required to make yourself a Heart Container.

Anything that makes your heart pump because of the sheer awesome is satisfactory.
