Zelda Battle Mode?

I was thinking that maybe the next Zelda could have a battle mode where you can battle with people using Wi-Fi, battles with a friend in your house, and against a COM. Playable charcters could be Link, Zelda, Darknut, Stalfos, Ganondorf, Gorons, etc. There would be downloadable content for the game, like extra characters and arenas.

What do you guys think of this?

Yes that would be awesome like a super smash bros. game with just Zelda a characters or like a soul caliber style or or like medal of honor where you walk the streets in first or third person mode that as I said would be awesome as long as it was not an attemp to be canon the it would suck.

those already exist, and if they were put into a zelda game they would suck, and just be cheap gimmicks, and take away from the real game

It wouldn't work. It would be a crappy version of Brawl with 8 characters.

The PH wifi games were ok, but not really that in-deapth.

It would be interesting if Nintendo took a page from Pikmin 2 and had co-op puzzle solving. That would be much better than hitting another Link with a sword.

Multiplayer in Zelda only works well with co-op. Because its more about puzzle solving than just fighting the baddies.

Someone made something similiar for Ocarina of Time.

Not those games with zelda characters put in the real characters place but that style I was just making an example.

I've always sorta had an idea like this, I think it would be really cool. It would definitely need to be one on one combat though. And not like SSB, because Link is already in that. Why play a Zelda version of SSB when you could just play SSB?

dumb idea.... super smash brothers covers this enough.. you already have link, zelda, and ganondorf... its pointless

This idea is generally 60% yes and 40% no between the fans. I like it, and I think it would be a great online. People think its SSBB with Zelda only, but it isn't that. It would be a open arena, unlike in SSB, where you can't go into the screen beyond. This would be like PH online, except with a way to fight.
