Real World Mythology
I was wondering how people would feel about new Zelda games based on religious mythology?
Like a game set in a parallel world where the goddesses (or maybe some gods) are much more physically present, and display more human emotion. There could be a plot loosely based on the Catholic idea of Lucifer, the fallen angel. Or based on the battle between the new gods and the old tyrannical gods in Greek mythology. Something that shows the gods as human and corruptible, and not just endless sources of good. |

Re: Real World Mythology
While taking inspiration from real mythology might be good for Nintendo, I think that something along the lines of what you suggested would be too much and might be seen as unoriginal.
As a minor note, the concept of the Silver Arrows actually came from mythology/folklore. Silver was believed to work well on demons, which is why the Sliver Arrows could defeat Ganon. When OOT came out, Nintendo seems to have partially transitioned from mythology to fantasy, turning the Silver Arrows into the Light Arrows and also giving the Master Sword the role of the evil-defeating weapon, which makes sense considering its reputation and the fact that Link is (primarily) a swordsman.

Re: Real World Mythology
Well, I do mean loosely based. Like some world in which one of the goddesses becomes evil and is banished by the others (catholic-inspired), or a battle between two different ranks of gods, like MM's Giants and MM's Goddess of Time (Greek-inspired). Just general scenarios, not details.
