Possible Future Link transformations

Its seams to be a common thing in Zelda games for there to be transformations.

In OoT, Link becomes his older self.
In MM, he could transform into 4 other forms with masks.
In TP, he turns into a wolf.

So what do you think they could try next time?

Maybe he turns into... I dont know...a dragon maybe? (like Megatron did)
Im sure you guys can come up with betters ideas though.

so what thats just 3 game of the whole series.
Theres like 14 in total. None of the others had transformation.

well theres the pink bunny in ALTTP too, but anyway, the transformations should probably not be seen as a recurring theme, which they are not, but rather a tool that the zelda team have indeed often used to tell their story.
I have to agree with you though red, it seems ;ilely to come up in a future zelda. transformation is an intrinsic part of the magic that exists in the zelda universe. zelda herself has often used transformations to disguise herself, and there are other examples of how a transformation has been used to signify either a curse or a healing process as in TP with both Midna and the goron elder.(kindof a spoiler there, sorry, but you'll get over it).and dont even get me started on ganon!
point being its bound to re cur again at some point, but without knowing how it could fit into an upcoming storyline, its impossible to guess how ut might be used. judging by recent comments from the nintendo honchos, it looks like the new zelda has some new ideas in store, in terms of gameplay, so who knows, maybe this could be our first oportunity to play as old man link, or better yet, a gossip stone!

If they were smart they would bring back the masks.

They were great in OOT and MM...they need to expand on that idea. The next Zelda will no doubt be online in at least a TRADING type scenerio.

I still say it would be a great idea if they used the same kinda trade system as we saw in PH exept if they made it mask type idea, could add magic as well.

take what you will from my comments. I think the transformation in MM was great, just need to be implimented in a more consistant useful way.

the wolf in TP felt TOTALY tacked on.... the wolf itself was utterly pointless.... you could have turned into an turtle for all it matterd. At least in MM you NEEDED the Zora/Goron/Deku masks.... as well as the other ones.

for the sequil of the wind waker, he IS the boat!

I dunno, the Dark Energy Attack was pretty useful against stuff like ReDead Knights.

I must admit, the smelling of the item and following a trail is an excellent idea, if it werent for Midna BEAKING off bout exactly how to solve that puzzle it might have even been a slightly interesting sequence in the game.... but no. Just like everything in TP it was explained to you to a T before you even tried to attempt it.

Just to think about it...

Link should become a squid in his next adventure if there was another ocean. He can hold many items at once and has black ink to stun enemies and can jet around.

IF link transforms i the next game, i would like him to be able to transform into multiple things as the game progresses, like the masks in mm

I agree that there should be multiple transformations through the game. Perhaps not into an animal, but perhaps into various elemental forms. A fire form, or an ice form, an aquatic form, a flying form, an animal form, and a ghost form. That would rock.
ETA: I realize I kinda contradicted myself with the animal form thing. I'm just saying it shouldn't rely entirely on one form.

More transformations would be nice. Also, in the OoX games, you could transform into multiple different forms using rings. So that makes 6/however many games.

I'd like to be able to become a Poe in a future LoZ game. I've always wanted to be able to change into one since Majora's Mask!

i like the idea for "hero of animals" in TP that never came to fruition. Maybe they could try that

I'd love for a new continuation of the majora's mask story, it still stands out as one of my favourite games ever. perhaps it could be made for the DS? It would at least be nice to have it referenced in the new wii zelda.

Perhaps there could be another mask side quest as in OOT but where the masks actually have some kind of use, or ability that is not necessarily conducive to the main quest but could be useful, like the bunny hood in MM. it would beat poe hunting any day.
