Re: BRING BACK THE MAGIC METER
I always thought it would be cool to have a more magic-oriented Zelda game. We have had a Hero of Time, of Wind, this one could be the Hero of Magic perhaps. Zelda uses magic a lot, Ganondorf does, then theirs always witches or fortune tellers as well, so it isn't implausible that Link could be schooled in magic. The OoT spells were lame (Din's Fire was OK); Link should be able to cast elemental spells just from his hands, or though arrows as previously done,or the sword power ups idea from above. Also, Link would definitely need light power to kill Ganon.
Actually, I'm starting to think that magic may be more associated with the Triforce of Wisdom, so this magic stuff may not as likely be in a game as I had originally thought.

Re: BRING BACK THE MAGIC METER
Actually, I hope (and believe) that Zelda Wii will have new concepts and ideas rather than using old (*cough OoT's *coughs*) ideas. They spent a lot of resources making TP, which was essentially fanservice and based on OoT - aren't you satisfied?
I could care less if they brought back the magic meter or not. If they come up with an item that would require magic (to avoid making Link overpowered), then sure - bring it back. As it is now, we have "unlimited ammo" in the 3D games since we can find magic jars everywhere... so there's no real point in having a meter since you never run out magic anyway. If they want to recycle magic from an earlier game, then I'd prefer to see the ALttP medallions, AoL style magic (which gives Link new temporary abilities) or magic items from LoZ such as the Magic Rod, Candle, Magic Shield etc. QFT
