Re: BRING BACK THE MAGIC METER
Why can't we have magic, but without the magic meter? Why do we have to limit out use of magic?

Re: BRING BACK THE MAGIC METER
I say that we have a magic meter, but have to find different Spell Scrolls to get spells as well as special quests to restore the magic of the Bombos, Quake and Ether Medallions. Each quest would occur at different points, as well as the obtaining of each spell scroll, but you'd need every spell in the game to even get to the Final Boss.

Re: BRING BACK THE MAGIC METER
i agree with sheikahsage. i dont think we need a magic meter. they are outdated, boring and are the kind of thing that will hold future zeldas back
that is why i think magic should take on a new role within the gameplay it can be part of puzzles and all kinds of things also id want an unobtrisive way of using magic and showing magic level (if it was shown) like somehow through the partner character i think a good partner character would be the perfect tool for using magic and they and their magic could be part of all kinds of puzzles also, i assume that the partner would be upgraded over the course of the game |

Re: BRING BACK THE MAGIC METER
The magic meter only made Zelda a lot more fun to escape from that reality feeling. Of course Link can run for miles without stopping or using items that require more than just a one man strength.
But having a magic meter only makes the boring more fun. Nintendo adds in more elements such as the magic arrows and such, but they aren't important items to the game (and this does not include the light arrow by all means). I would say to leave it out. And it is annoying enough to replenish it by finding thoes green bottles everywhere. I'm glad TP took it out of the game.

I agree with your other idea, though.

A half size bar for the max would be the best option. Therefore, you would have to be careful with the amount of energy that you consume.

Re: BRING BACK THE MAGIC METER
no
just no magic bar they are so old and clumsy we just need some other way of 'doing' magic in fact id rather there were magic items than a magic bar magic the way it is used in most games (including zelda) sucks i want it to be intergrated in to the world and the everyday gameplay such as through the 'partner' |

Hmmm... I have an idea. Link should be able to do his special sword techniques (if not better) by using a bit of his magic. It could work and it would make everything very interesting and more fun.

Re: BRING BACK THE MAGIC METER
In my opinion:
A. Keep the magic bar. B. Make items use more magic. C. Make magic items that are actually needed! This way, magic is actually used and there aren't as many people annoyed by getting all the green pots. For example, the Goron and Zora forms in MM used quite a bit of magic, so you were happy to get it. |

I would say the ability to use magic to make massive offensive attacks with the use of his sword. He would be able to summon magic from his blade to kill hundreds of enemies gaining on him and also, from what you have stated, also summoning elements to destroy all of what it touches. Magic in Zelda has been nothing but a breeze. They need to put more into it if they were to bring back the magic meter.

To the first, if all the coolest of magic is obtained later in the game, then it would make sence storyline wise. To the second, they could design the game in a way that would encourage you to use both weapons and magic together. Lets take the lighting throwing spell for example. You could use it by itself for an attack that covers a broad area, but doesn't do much damage, or you can electrify the blade of your sword for a powerful focused strike. By the way, this is the effect I'm going for with the magic. |

Re: BRING BACK THE MAGIC METER
every one has these good ideas for powerful magic, but i agree with those who say it would make the game too easy. But how about having a restriction on those items? Like they can ONLY be used in hyrule field, in areas where u mainly just travel and no game story line related stuff really happens? Everyone likes riding around on epona and fighting the green dudes on boars every once in a while. Why no add some magic to keep that interesting?
