oh and if they make it more colourful and cartoony, it will be LESS realistic
do you mean you want the graphics to still be good?
good graphics dont = realism
cartoony = less realistic

I don't think you understand my stance
One thing that anyone can clearly see this gen is people thinking that in order to look "realistic" they have to make all the colors run with some brown/ grey filter. Sadly, thats partly what they did with
TP. They gave it more of a muted color sheme with "earthy colors" via brown, washed out colors.
Lets look at Fable 2 for example.
YouTube - E3 2008 Fable 2 [NEW TRAILER + EXTRA]
You can see that it's brown and washed out looking when it has to be but the happy, day time parts don't skip on the bright, fantasy like colors. This game will look more realistic than
LoZ Wii but they still have a bright, colorful, fantasy looking world that looks more fantasy than
TP appeared. (color is your friend)
Or lets look at the FPA game that people are going "OMG!?!? A First Person game with color!" over.
YouTube - Mirror's Edge Trailer Very bright, very colorful and very realistic.
The art style in the
LoZ titles probly has more to do with the tone of the game (darker) mixed with the feel that they should make a "realistic"
LoZ (they were making this "darker" game with WW's art style before they chose to throw in realism). Im hoping that thats the case and that the next one isn't as dark so that they can feel that they can take in more colorful tones atleast.
I think that your use of the word "artistic" and my use of the word "cartoony" are closer than you think. I feel that they can make a more stunning art style by freeing up the reins on this whole realism take they were aiming for. For me, mixing SMG's lovely, cartoony style of color and texture with
TP's more realistic style of characters and environments would make for a much better look.
Maybe I should quote this guy. . .he sums up how I felt about
TP's art style.

Kamiya was asked how he felt about Nintendo's Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and he explained: "To be frank, I was disappointed when I saw [Twilight Princess'] visuals. I'm a Zelda freak -- it's no overstatement to say that I created Okami because of Zelda. I really wanted [Twilight Princess] to have that regal aura, because Zelda was what we were aspiring to. I wanted it to show me things that were surprising, but..."

So yea. . . new art style changes please.
