If its not Link

Do you think that in a future zelda if they don't use Link will they have you wield a different main weapon other than your sword?

I don't think that whether you're Link or not has any bearing on the inventory.

for instance, the Master Sword can only be held by the true hero. If the character isnt neccisarily the true hero, then no Master Sword.

And don't tell me that would never happen, that was the big topic with all this Valley of the Flood crap.

i was just using it as an example to show that who you are can affect what you can use

oh sorry, well then yes i see what your saying, but, it dosent affect it that much, you could still use almost anything else i think

Are you assuming that there's only one true hero? How many different Links have wielded it? Three? Four? Five? They're all different people, and heroes of different things, but the common factor is that they are all heroes.

The Master Sword is a sword that no evil man may ever touch (or some cheesy bit along those lines). If a person is of pure heart, and have the required pendants/medallions/etc., they should be able to draw it. However, it all depends on where it's placed. For instance, only the Hero of Time could pull it from the Pedestal of Time, but that doesn't mean that every time it's a one-man-only job, and even if it is, who's to say that one man is Link?

Zelda held the Master Sword near the end of The Wind Waker.

I think Link is the only one who can pull it from the pedestal, but once it's pulled anyone can hold it.

Or maybe you need a piece of the Triforce to hold the sword, hence why Zelda is able to touch it.

You need to prove yourself worthy by passing three trials. Anybody who passes its trials is able to wield it.

in OoT, you only need the the 3 spiritual stones to open the door of time, not necisarilly to get the Master Sword, even if some random person completed the 3 trials, they still wouldnt be able to pull out the Master Sword.

in TWW, its the same deal, those 3 trials are only there so that you can reach the Master Sword within the castle.

in TP, the first three dungeons have nothing to do with the Master Sword, since the fused shadow are not related to the Master Sword in any way. Link technically could have gone to get it whenever he wanted.

So in Ocarina of Time, you deny that the process of collecting Spiritual Stones is to pass three trials? Note that another person tried to get them without heroic feats and fell flat on his face.

Link did only two trials to gain the three goddesses' pearls, and what happened? A dungeon sprang up out of the ocean to test him in a third trial before he could lift the Master Sword.

That's correct: the Fused Shadows have nothing to do with the Master Sword. But it recognized that Link went through three trials and so he was granted it.

I can see Link using the FS or the KS in some situations.

What are the stipulations that make a character Link? Im just wondering what the requirements are to be Link.
