Here, More proof of a next year Zelda.

Ok, i found this on (might be old news, sorry if it is) Nintendo Power Issue 218 (I believe) and according to the 3 year pattern on these 3 games, the next game is a 2009 schedule.

Yup. Same as it's been said time and time again, but I think there's a strong possibility that Zelda Wii will leak into 2010. Still, this shows why we are overdue for a Zelda trailer!

Well you're just assuming that the next Zelda is in 09...

What about the hand held games? Do those just magically not count?

Magically? ...No. But they don't count, yes. They're developed by a different team, which typically follows a different time frame.

You know, the console Zelda games don't really follow a pattern, though they've been pretty regularly released in the past 10 years.

Going by the Japanese release dates:
1986 (LoZ), 1987 (AoL), 1991 (ALttP), 1998 (OoT), 2000 (MM), 2002 (TWW), 2004 (FSA), 2006 (TP)

If anything, we should expect one later this year because of this 'pattern' (unless you count LCT, in which case we won't get one until 2010). Not that it really matters though, we'll get a Zelda when we get one.

Except Phantom Hourglass was internally developed.

The new zelda is a long way off, it isn't coming out in 2009.

I'm guessinglate 2009 as an ultra cheesy estimate.

MM is a sequel, and sequels come out sooner than most other games, so really:

LoZ (1986)
ALttP (1991)
OoT (1998)
TWW (2003)
TP (2006)

5 years, 7 years, 5 years, 3 years

So next gap should be 5 years if there's a pattern, which I seriously doubt to begin with.

Unless TP is getting a sequel... but they're going to have to do a game on a totally new console, so expect a 5-year gap anyway.

Well, can't really argue with that proof.

Oh, except if there was a Zelda title coming out anytime in the next fews years, Nintendo would be busy hyping it up already.

But, no, they'll obviously be keeping to their strict release schedule.

Good to know. Plus, I imagine it would be easier to deal with 2D graphics (excluding PH, obviously), rather than a full-blown 3D game.

Even if they did decide to release it in 09, we all know it will get delayed like hell. If they decided to release it in 2064 it wouldn't be released untill the turn of the century.
