Nintendo would never do that. If that happened, some Zelda fans would dump their wii because they realize they don't need it. They can get Zelda on other systems.
Less people=Less money.
Nintendo would hurt their bottom line, which they are not about to do. Nintendo always has made Zelda games, and that's never going to change.

BTW, do you mean the OoT formula, or the OoT standard?
If you mean standard, I agree, but it should be above OoT.
IF you mean formula, I disagree completely. The 3 items then 4-6 items then Ganondorf formula is so overplayed it is sickening. I really hope we get something new for the formula.

Re: Oh no! Our WORST nightmare has come true! Zelda is... CASUAL!!!!

Accesible doesn't have to mean casual. I can make a list of ways that a Zelda can be both accesible and hardcore. In fact I will.

1. More focus on combat.

2. Difficulty settings.

This way puzzles won't be a problem and you can choose whether you want a casual or hardcore experience.

3. Make the story more focused on side quests but can still be completed withought them.

4. Multiple endings so both casual and hardcore will have a reason to do all the side quests to get better endings.

Just solved any problems with the story being too deep or long.

5. Include a Library with books that talk about Hyrules history. This way casuals with no knowledge of Zelda can learn if they see fit.

Just solved the problem of casuals not having any prior Zelda knowledge.

Those are just off the top of my head. Accesible =/= casual.

Re: Oh no! Our WORST nightmare has come true! Zelda is... CASUAL!!!!

I don't think that the next Zelda game will be "casual" in the sense of it being easier or boring. I think Miyamoto just wants Zelda to be more accessible to non-gamers. Super Mario Galaxy was easy to pick up and play for non-gamers, but it left lots of room for technique and advanced play for gamers like ourselves. Hopefully, the next Zelda will be similar to Galaxy, but only time will tell.

But what about people like myself that enjoy Zelda more for the exploration and puzzle-solving? Of course combat will always be an important part of Zelda, but I don't think we need to make it have more of a focus.

In a game such as Zelda which works around an overarching timeline (if only a bit), multiple endings would just screw things up.

I think that they already went that way in TP and going deeper to that end it might ruin Zelda. TP already was ridiculously easy and didn't have much connections to the other games so going further that way might be a bad idea and cause Zelda-fans to give up.

Nintendo, you worry more about money than us original hard core gamers.

Just because it's easy doesn't mean it's gonna suck. I mean, look at Okami. Easiest game I've ever played. Does that mean it sucked? No, it was ****ing amazing. Same goes for zelda, it doesn't have to be hard for it to be awesome.
Well said!!!!!!!
Funny, Okami Was influence by TP

Miyamoto has always been weird. His inspiration for making Pikmin was gardening, and he made Wii Fit after he realized how much he enjoyed weighing himself. Most genius' are a bit eccentric. So don't worry if he seems weird, let his games speak for himself.

i heared this and died a little...

Nintendo is committing suicide, they basically shoved a huge ass middle finger strait in they eye of us core' gamers, the ones who got them where they are today, there E3 confrence blew big time, if they make zelda more "accessible" and "easier to pick up and play", gahh i dont now what i'll do....

Re: Oh no! Our WORST nightmare has come true! Zelda is... CASUAL!!!!

I've always considered Zelda games casual, this isn't much of a surprise to me, although, I'm just worried they'll make them too easy. Zelda games (with the exception of OOT: Master Quest and parts of OOT) have usually been pretty easy.
