Just because it's easy doesn't mean it's gonna suck. I mean, look at Okami. Easiest game I've ever played. Does that mean it sucked? No, it was ****ing amazing. Same goes for zelda, it doesn't have to be hard for it to be awesome.

Okami f***ing rocked, end of story.That game was just fun, and even funner during the boss battles.

If Nintendo manages to do what Clover Studios did with Okami (but being a different game, xD) that would literally bring a tear to my eye. Okami, if not my favourite game of all time, is definitely up there.

Of course all of this could simply mean "easier" control schemes or more intuitive, although I doubt it.

I've been lurking a few days so I suppose it is time I actualy post.
I first played OoT when I was seven at a friend's house, first video game I had ever played and I had no serious issues playing it. A few months ago I played TP at another friend's hose (I'm poor... I still don't have it) and once again found it incredibly easy to pick up and play. That being said if Nintendo plans to make things more accessable without overly dumbing down the entire experience then I welcome it if it brings in more players withouth alienating the old. We have to trust in Miyamoto, he hasn't wronged us yet.
Think of this, more players = more money. More money = more developers. More developers = better games that get made quicker.

I completely agree. In fact, I'm actually hoping wholeheartedly for something along these lines. Make Easy easier than Zelda should be, for the sole purpose of introducing the casual gamer to Zelda. Then there should be a Normal setting, where we have our traditional Zelda fare. Then we should have a Hard setting which is, by all means, incredibly difficult. Nintendo should have us thinking long and hard over the puzzles, struggling to beat the enemies, who should have AI that has us in awe, and coming with this Hard setting, along with personal satisfaction, should be numerous rewards that can't be obtained in the other settings. This would complement any gamer- the Casual, the less Hardcore, and the seriously Hardcore. At any rate, completionists would be happy.

One setting for people getting into Zelda, another for experienced gamers and one setting for tried and true Zelda fans/fanatics.

And I also like the AI issue. I think easy's bosses should be as hard as TP bosses, with mostly patterns, and Hard's bosses should be the hardest in the series, with mostly AI's.

Let's pray to Jeebus that this happens.

its the casual crowds own damn fault for not getting into the games 20 years earlier, or even 10. nintendo shouldnt have to make a watered down zelda game just cause these people didn't get into it when they had the chance.

i understand that a game doesnt need to be challenging to be fun. but seriously zelda games are easy enough as it is. and you need to draw the line between easy, and just plain boring somewhere.

Did you ever think that the casual gamers weren't old enough ten years ago or perhaps weren't even born? See, as time goes on new people are born and they are too young to get into video games for several years.

I really like the whole difficulty level thing. That way everybody gets their piece of Zelda pie. I would do the tough mode, because I like it hard. But my sister and mom might do easy mode because they just started to play. But if I meet someone who is ok at gaming, I tell them to play the medium mode. I think that works the best.

yes i relaize that, but you also need to realize that zelda is a franchise that is designed for the long time followers. even if you were to make it more accesible for casual gamers, they'd still be lost in the jumble of characters and history surrounding them.

Since nearly every game starts in a virtualy a whole new setting keeping up with the backgrounds for the characters is a non-issue since they change every game.
