Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
he|re, that's a very very good point you make. A kick-attack is something that I've always thought was lacking in the Zelda arsenal.
Heck, you know what would be a good thing? We could go GTA-style on Zelda...like randomly pick up objects to use as weapons. Even use other enemies as weapons if you position yourself correctly (like the grappling-move on wrestling games) EDIT: oh wow..hacked? Geez I lost like...40 posts :0o Uhm..well I had come up with a weapon..the Chu-shooter. It would engulf enemies causing different outcomes... I went into a lot more detail before but I'm not going to, now :0P

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
what about a spear. it would be equiped in place of your sword, not as a regular item. also it could be thrown, used underwater, and while on epona. so really, it would be more like a spear/harpoon/javalin/lance.
maybe you could get it really early in the game, before a sword, or maybe you just never get a sword. thatd be a fresh change. ofcourse, it could also be a deungeon item. and i liked the chu-shooter idea

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
I kind of like the idea of sticky bombs, all you do is throw it at something and they stick to it.
i think the first watter level would be a good place to find these bombs. their function would help out with walls that you would have to be very accurate when it comes to acctually being able to blow up, walls that you have to get bombs in a spacific place. like the wall in ocarina of time in dadongos cavern (i had a very hard time blowing up that wall) |

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
I would like the idea of land based wepons. Like a giant catapult.
And I like the idea of spicked boots. Whoever thought of that is a geinus Also a good idea. It would be funny to stick it to an enemy and watch them go crazy trying to get it off. lol

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
Upgraded Swords:
Ideas kinda from Alttp and MM with a bit of TP. Lvl 1: Obtained by finding it in a chest; Standard Sword with basic attacks, nothing special. Lvl 2: Obtained by throwing your sword into the fairy pond; Sword with magic upgrade, magical spin. Lvl 3: Obtained by collecting things from the temples/dungeons; Master Sword: magical spin and with full hearts great spin and magical beam (like in Alttp.) Lvl 4: Obtained by collecting gold dust from the goron mine using pick axe; Guiled Master Sword: magical spin and with full hearts great spin, magical beam (like in Alttp) and Increased attack power. Lvl 5: Obtaining the light of the godesses and fusing it with the guilded master sword creates this. Guiled Master Sword of Light: One hit KO with normal enimies, magical spin and with full hearts great spin, magical beam (like in Alttp) and also fully charged for the power of evils bane. The final upgrade to the Sword. Like the items I made? ![]() I'll post more items as I think off them and how to get the other items I put in this post.

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
Quote:
Mechanical Gauntlets A pair of steel-colored gauntlets made from attached plates and gears, which cover Link's hands and forearms and extend as far as the elbow. The cogs of pair of gears rise up over the back of the hand on each gauntlet and extend past the knuckles. Link uses the gauntlets to run gear systems in walls, much like the spinner, but vertical as opposed to horizontal. Many of the mechanisms controlled by the gauntlets can be oriented into one of several positions, making their design very different than the simple on/off idea driving most spinner-related devices. At some points, Link will need to use both of the gauntlets instead of just one, which normally appears in the form of "gear ports" on opposite sides of the hero, but can also be a pair of "ports" directly in front of him. Alternatively, the mechanical gauntlets can be used in a pugilistic fighting style, with Link meting out punishment to his opponents' all-too-breakable faces. Link uses a set of punches, grabs and throws when fighting in this way, and the power of the gauntlets is comparable to a good sword. When Link faces certain mechanical enemies with the gauntlets, their power can be used to shake his enemy apart, either destroying them outright, or stripping them of their much needed armor, before Link starts the beat down. Item Combo: Clawshot (or Double Clawshot) + Bow & Arrow = Clawed Arrows The first time Link realizes this combo is possible, he'll remove the claw from the front of his clawshot and affix it to a heavy-duty arrow. Your ammunition will be reduced to 1, and you'll also lose the use of the clawshot until its claw is replaced. For this measure, a merchant who sells the claw items will appear in one or two of the game's towns. The clawed arrow provides decent hitting power compared to a normal arrow, but pales to the bomb arrow. However, it isn't supposed used for killing enemies. Instead, when a small enough enemy is struck by a claw arrow, it flies back to the nearest wall in its flight path (a good, long ways if there is no wall) and pins it there, immobile. Against some larger foes, a clawed arrow is simply a more powerful arrow, against others, a clawed arrow might pin one or more of its limbs to the wall, making it easier to fight. Combo: Magic + Clawshot (or Double Clawshot) = Magicked Clawshot Some fans may have noticed that Twilight Princess was missing a magic bar, but the game got along just fine without it. For some, it was a nice change, for others, it was a little missed. Combining the clawshot or double clawshot with magic provides Link with an effective way to combat many difficult opponents, or perhaps just a fun way to deal with smaller ones. When Link targets an enemy with the magicked clawshot and hits, the clawshot will latch onto that enemy instead of simply striking and returning. Using the control stick, a player may reel in or let out an enemy attached in this way. Perhaps more importantly, a simple button press electrifies the chain attaching Link to his quarry, inflicting considerable damage before the claw releases the enemy and returns to Link. ... Any thoughts?

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
Wrangler's Rope
----------------------------------- An item obtained early on in the game, when Link is exploring an old mine shaft. A sturdy rope that is chiefly used in a mini-game at Lon Lon Ranch, where Link must round up all the cows/horses/goats similar to the one in TP. Can also be used in combat to pull an enemy closer to Link. Looperang ---------------------------- By combining the aforementioned rope with a boomerang, Link fashions a Looperang. By tying one end of the rope to the boomerang, and throwing it around a large group of livestock, Link is able to wrangle more at a time and achieve higher scores. Likewise, the same can be done in battle. During horseback combat, Link can use the Looperang to pull a foe off his mount, or to trip the mount and send the rider flying like a cyclist over his handlebars.

Pistol dagger. A secondary weapon that can be equiped in place of the shield. A dagger with a primitive pistol built in.

For shame, Shark Boy. For shame... Cervantes will have your soul.
Zip-Shot ------------------ When Link obtains the bow, he finds yet another use for his old rope. By attaching the rope to an arrow Link can fire the arrow and create a zipline, which his bow is used as a grip, rather than hang by the rope. There is a catch, Link must have a post to tie the first end to, and the arrow must be fired into a wooden surface. The rope can be collected after each zip.

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
Mine would be the Chakrams Of Insanity. They were spawned from Lucifer himself they are dark glowing black and red every time link uses it he looses some health and rupees... but when he does use it he is UN-STOPPABLE! he is invincible, super fast, jumps super high and last but not least... he can kill ANYTHING with one hit. BUT when he uses it the darkness over powers him he becomes Anti-Link he is pitch black with red eyes a demonic voice and a red aura over his whole body. but best be careful if he uses it too long he gets stuck like that forever. in order to get it you need to scale down into the pits of hell

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
Pits of hell huh.... Playing a little too much Prince of Persia 2 thrones were we?
I like the idea of the arrows being upgraded into a more functional item. Arrows with a rope attached could be used to Trip, attack, pull things closer or as a running pivit point in order to create cintrifical force to hurl link greater distances. You could add ice to the arror/rope and make some kind of a sliding hard rail that link could 2 foot slide across. I'm sure fire could be used in some imaginative puzzle solving way in which you put a pile of bombs or one HUGE bomb by a door but you need time to run away, this could act like a wick when combined with fire arrows. I think that it would be ok if the Zelda series borrowed a bit from Final fantasy 7's GF's It would be GREAT if once you've beaten a big boss in one of the dungeons you can SUMMON a version of it using the *conch of souls* or whatever you wanna call it. I should cost you 100 rupee's and all of your magic to do so, but the effect and the awesome intro style of that particular creture would be SO worth it. (i loved watching my summons come to life in FF7) and then watching them obliterate a target. plus, it could have something to do with the end of the game, like.. MM style in which you need to call all of them to combine forces to make 1 super demi god that helps you defeat the final boss. In the end, link just needs MORE magic. Dins fire in OOT was cool... Link got all mad, punched the ground and BOOM! a fire explosion... it was great, we need MORE not less. Its a magical world, with mythical and magical creatures.... why wouldnt link have magic? he needs more, upgradeable, purchaseable, Hard to find magic that is a wild and varying as finding heart pieces. Sure some of the magic might be totaly pointless and strange if you had that many spells to find, but you could combine certain ones/ collect and online trade them like ship parts in PH. I think it would be fun. |

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
Those are all pretty awesome man. I especially like the whole summoning stuff, and a definate yes to the more magic.
Anyways, my weapons: I believe in one game, Link should be able to control the elements. You know, earth, fire, water, air. These abilities would require the magic meter, or any other meter actually to use them in any way. Wether it be for attacking or completing a puzzle. Rock Pack This is obtained after defeating a boss the uses the earth, thus giving you the ability to control the earth as well. The item is used as an equipable object like the boots and tunics. The Rock Pack allows link to create pillars of rocks in front of him to be used as stairs, move large rocks, or to attack enemies by jutting out a slab of earth at the enemy. After time and use of the object, the Rock Pack can then allow Link to perform a massive earthquake to affect a large area of enemies. Aqua Arm Like the Rock Pack except it allows the control of water. The arm would allow Link to swim faster through the water or possibly walk on it, and also be used kinda like a water arrow against foes. After time and use, the Aqua Arm could create massive waves to arise and strike a number of enemies. Inferno Hand Gives Link the power of fire. The hand would allow Link to walk freely on hot surfaces, remove any firey obstacle, and also emit fire attacks like the fire arrows. After time and use, the Inferno Hand could become a stronger version of Din's Fire and incinerate all around Link. Air Wings Gives Link the power of air. With this item, Link also has a new transportation device. Link can fly over the lands of Hyrule, but only for a limited time. This ability is faster than Epona would be if you needed to get somewhere fast. Also, the wings act like TP's gale boomerang as they can activate fan switches, push away piles of leaves and other things. After time and use like all the ones before, Link can then create a cyclone that would blow away all foes, not harming them alot but leaving behind items that they would drop usually. Thats all for now.
