Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
Sorry, The ring of mind control, will allow link to temporarly take control of his enemies. (for about 30 seconds) While in control of them, he can use the possessed one to go behind enemy lines, use their weapons, or speak with them. (Havent you always wondered what a conversation with a moblin would be like)

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
Zelda has just about reached its limit on weapons without getting absolutely ridiculous. I didn't like the spinner and ball and chain from Twilight Princess all that much. They seemed extremely out of place. I'm thinking all that's left is upgrades. Boots that allow you to walk on water would be cool. That's what I thought the hover boots were when I first got them. But of course this would be highly controversial, haha. They could use it so well in dungeons! I kinda like the double blade thing, but then again it seems kind of Legolas to me. Guns are straight up stupid and better not ever happen, and crossbows are lame. A classic longbow/recurve is all Zelda ever needs, but some cool arrow upgrades would be sweet! I'm trying to think of items that could be used only underwater... not a harpoon or anything, but something small... something a Zora would used... I don't know..... Ever since OoT I have wanted to see some more awesome spells like Din's fire! Maybe one with wind or water for blowing out torches!

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
I disagree. I mean with the additions they make to Zelda, it is really hard for them to run of ideas. For an example, Link turned into a wolf in TP... they could have worked with that a bit more, maybe given him different howls. Then there's the add-ons to the boat that could be used. Also, I am most positive there were more weapons used throughout history that could be used in a future Zelda game. Like what if Link used a rocket similar to ancient Chinese fireworks. I mean, they were weapons that have never truly been in a Zelda game. The closest you get is the bomb-chu. That being said, I think you should expand your mind a little more to the possibilities.

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
I just don't see why they would ever give Link Chinese fireworks, or a "Ring of Mind Control",or any other weapon I can think of really. Maybe in a hendheld. But bow and arrow pretty much takes care of every projectile weapon u would need (with arrow upgrades), and a sword is really the most fun way of fighting (there could be a few different swords like the Biggoron's sword or something), and the boomerang is just weird and classic so its gotta be in there. I think the hookshot is going to stay since it is extremely useful, the same with bombs, but other weapons? I dont think the goal is really to have Link use every weapon used throughout history, but to use weapons that fit the style and benefit gameplay

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
No, you're right. The goal is not to have Link use every weapon, but to use different weapons creatively. Finding new and interesting ways to use old weapons, and using new weapons in ways to solve intricate puzzles. I mean, I can understand your objections, but really, this is something worth discussing. If you don't think there should be any new weapons, then you can voice that opinion on a thread that is discussing that, but please don't question why we are disscussing this and why we think it's a good idea.

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
My ideas:
small primitive pistol - to replace arrows. Similarly as to how the arrows replace the slingshot. This could fit in Spirit tracks since there is slightly more technology in that game. Iron gauntlets - that give link that ability to smash rocks and ice without needing bombs or the ball and chain. These also make link heavy like the iron boots. Magic armor - once link wears this he comes in touch with his latent energy/life-force and uses it to fire energy masses. this armor uses up a quarter of a heart every 15 seconds. since we all know link is pure hearted + wields the triforce of courage, his latent energy is much greater that the average Hylian. also if appropriate to the game, links boomerang would not appear but instead he would receive a different type of throwing weapon such as throwing knives, throwing axes and shurikens for examples. |

DakonLink's weapon suggestions
how about a crossbow sword where when your using it as a sword the arms are hidden in the blade and the bolts(crossbow arrows) come out of and are put in a hole at the end of the sword w/ the trigger in the handle

Hey DakonLink, welcome to ZU.
![]() Hope everything's going well for you. Quick tip of advice: try not to double post. If you wanna post something after a post and no one has said anything since your first post, edit your first post and add everything you wanted in a second post there. I'm not trying to yell at you or anything, just trying to help you out. ![]()

And well, their Shonun Jump status is a big factor but no. And besides, that's off topic.

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
i think link should get a chain you know one u could use like a whip u could use it to pull things off ledges but not to swing because it would break u could trip enemies wrap it around small enemies and swing them around as a weapon killing them in the process

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
One of the weapons they need to add is a Crossbow with a scope. Since it is going too be more technological, this would be a great addition/substitute for a conventional bow. If they stick with the overworld(which I pray they do) then it would be pretty sweet to blow some moblins off of thier mounts from a few hundred yards away. If they add that, imagine fire/exploding crossbow bolts, that would be killer.

Re: The Official Ideas for Future Weapons Thread
i want some form of the pegasus boots to make a comeback because it would be so much better for getting across hyrule field and places also i know this is a bit out there but whilst wearing them if you run towards a wall you can run along or up it (depending on the angle at which you run at it of course) for about 10 maybe 12 steps.
ALSO a new kind of sword because the same formula has been used too often in the sense that you get a regular sword and then the master sword like how about you are able to put the rupees to a good use and buy new swords from a blacksmith i dont know what kind of sword exactly but i would like to see something different
