Stamina Bar?
In many Zelda games, it seems that you can just easily pull off attacks with no compensation (OoT, TP (for GC) Spin Attack ). In PH, they put a limitation on the amount of spin attacks and rolls you could do by making you lose focus for a second.
What if they introduce a stamina bar? A yellow bar, that loses a bit of stamina every time Link performs an attack. When Link stays still, it slowly refills. If the bar gets to zero, Link becomes really slow, his attacks barely do any damage, and the bar turns purple and goes into refill mode. The bar will slowly refill (quicker if Link stands still), and when the bar is filled again, Link and the bar turn back to normal. Possible upgrades could include:
Yellow Potions could instantly refill the bar regardless of its position. Eating or drinking anything (you could visit a bar or something, drinking potions or soup, but not fairies) could fill the bar a little. What do you think? Is it a good idea? Is it unneeded? Would it make Zelda too hard?

Re: Stamina Bar?
If you roll, it will take up barely any energy at all. Running takes up none. If you roll like you did in PH, it would work properly. (3 rolls, walk a little bit, 3 rolls, walk a little bit, etc...). Once you get the stamina upgrade, you should be able to roll from Ordon Village to Kakariko constantly without losing much stamina (like around 1/8th). Riding Epona takes up even less energy.
This is mainly meant to put a limit on the people who just constantly jump strike or spin attack in a fight.

I understand the concept you are suggesting, but it would ruin the fact that Link is awesome because he can kill a billion enimies at once with floips and spins like a Spartain...or at least thats what I would like to happen...

Re: Stamina Bar?
I really like this concept, especially since alot of my friends just spin attack constantly, as well as the jump attack. It would be alot more realistic (even though its a fantasy game) for Link to become tired after a while instead of being able to fight endlessly without fatigue. With your idea that realistic feeling would occur.
And yeah riding epona should take no energy from Link, but it's not like a real horse can run forever, I mean sure they can go for a long time without getting winded, but they still get tired. In fact, they should allow Epona to run at a steady pace for a long time instead of the carrot/horseshoe method of gameplay, no horse gets tired after 15 seconds of sprinting (unless it's obese, which epona isn't).

Re: Stamina Bar?
Flow is a very important aspect in game and level design. Adding a stamina bar wouldn't really make the game much harder, though it would interrupt the flow of the game. At best, this would be annoying, at worst it would distract from every experience in the game.
And if you're talking about a system that limits the amount of time you can do the best attacks in the game, why not just use the system in PH instead of utilizing an awkward bar? Also, upgrades would work fine, and this way, everything isn't linked to the same static bar. Its all dynamic. You can have an upgrade that removes fatigue from rolling or removes epona's fatigue, and still spin and jump attack related fatigues. or reduces the rate of fatigue or length of one thing and not the other.

Re: Stamina Bar?
I don't think this would be a bad idea. I do have to say though, if they added a stamina bar it would definitely be cool to also throw in a new pair of boots that increases your speed while your run/walk/roll. Not so much like the Pegasus Boots/Seeds that allow you to dash, but more like just in general the ability to run faster and what not. If you wanted to get fancy you could say the boots allow Link to not only move faster, but keep his stamina bar from draining too quickly.

Re: Stamina Bar?
I like that idea with the boots. It's these kinds of gameplay-wise things I like to think about, not the story. The stamina bar wouldn't make the game boring, it's boring right now just constantly jump attacking/spin attacking.
Epona's energy is like nothing. It would take up the amount of energy it took me to type this. There should still be a small drain on Link's stamina, because he couldn't just sit on Epona for a long time. (And if Nintendo does incorporate this into the next Zelda, there will be some person who will just run around in circles trying to drain their energy .)
