The new Dark Link

Dark Link just hasn't been getting the respect that he deserves lately. In OoT he was a minboss. Not a boss but a miniboss. That's not right. Dark Link has fallen to Link way too many times. But we can rebuild him. We have the dark magic.

First of all, Dark Link isn't exactly Link's copy. Dark Link only uses a shield and sword. Link has arrows, a hookshot (longshot), and other items. Dark Link should be able to use those things too. So, when Link finally fights Dark Link, Dark Link will have every item that Link has, with a few exceptions. If Link is fighting with light arrows, Dark Link will be fighting with Dark arrows. If Link has a fairy in a bottle, Dark Link will have an anti-fairy in a bottle. Dark Link will also have exactly as much health and magic as Link has at the start of the battle. His hearts and magic will show up on the opposite side of the screen and they will look more evil. The player would not be able to just damage Link until he has one heart left and then fight to make the battle shorter for a reason specified later.

Now for the story. Link will be going to the Golden Palace of Courage. All throughout the dungeon are triforce drawings with the courage third highlighted. When Link finally gets to the boss room, a bright light shines and Link casts a shadow. Link's ToC glows and it restores his health and magic. Dark Link emerges from the shadow and steals half of Link's ToC. The battle between them begins.

The player can make Link fight Dark Link however he wants. If Link is close to Dark Link, then Dark Link will use some kind of evil version of the master sword as well as his shield. If Link is away from Dark Link, Dark Link will use weapons such as the boomerang and the hookshot (longshot). If Link is very far away, Dark Link will use arrows. When Dark Link is down to just enough arrows so that all of his magic could be used on all of the arrows, he'll start using Dark Arrows. Boss fights have to get progressively harder.

I suppose that late in the battle, Dark Link will have a dark aura and Link will be glowing. If Link wins, then the ToC half returns to him and he uses it to shine a golden light on Dark Link that destroys him. If Dark Link wins, then he gets the other ToC half and he sucks in Link's physical form so that he can be real (all throughout this, Dark Link is kind of transparent. He isn't as real as Link is.) and it's game over.

This idea makes the fight against Dark Link harder than ever. No more can free hits be scored on Dark Link using Din's Fire. Dark Link's potential shall be realized!

i like this idea, it would give the idea of fighting an exact copy rather than just a pathetic copy

I was thinking that the Golden Palace of Courage would be shaped like the symbol of courage.

The circle in the middle would be the boss room. The crescent shapes would be a series of difficult rooms that would test Link.

We could give him a new weapon. I was thinking of a claymore with a red blade, or staff with small ornaments filled with evil souls. And If Dark Link hits Link with the staff, a cloak of shadow swirls aroung him, and takes 2 hearts from him.

Hmmmm, magic... maybe he could have shards of darkness shoot out of his palm.


I also thought about him having a long cape-like cloak on him, and it would have a hood on it.

ugh dark link fanboy club strikes again. i don't see the big deal. is it because he's 'cool and looks like a shadows LOL AWSUM'?

Dark Link would just be a copy of Link with different colors and evil wherever Link has good. Link and Dark Link would be like Yin and Yang.

I hate dark link, how many times have we seen a cool character with a similiair dark character! like shadow the hedgehog, and dark samus, and spiderman with hi's stupid dark suit. sorry I if it looks like I hate you, I really dont hate you. I just don't want to see link with a dark character.
