Next Zelda should be mature.
Link and Zelda have a romantic relationship maybe this could happen. I just think the legend of zelda should be more mature. What do you guys think?
Mario bros is not mature Zelda had the t rating and mario e.

Re: Next Zelda should be mature.
Well stated 8bit. I honestly don't see why people care so much about how "mature" it is. If you love the series, then you should love it for what it is, not what it shouuld be. Part of what makes it The Legend of Zelda is the fact that it's meant for all ages, it's a classic save the princess adventure, it has quite serious moment, follwed by quite obscure charactors, and Link is a non talking, non romantic charactor. Don't forget, Miyamoto made the game to reflect his childhood out in the hills and forests playing in his imagination land where all this was real. The very corse and basis of Zelda is imature, it is a child's fantasy world.

Re: Next Zelda should be mature.
Mattocks is right.
What are you looking for exactly beautiful zelda? Sex, drugs, alcohol, f-bombs? Do those seem like the zelda we know and love to you? Zelda: "oh link you've saved me again lets go smoke some weed and bang" yeah, i didn't think so. If you looking for more violence, T games can have butt loads of it. Even language. You ever play the Jak and daxter games? Jak 2 and 3 have lots of violence and swear yet they are still T. Personally i think that if Zelda were to go M, it would ruin what it truely is.

The next Zelda should be more whimsical and have a very legendish feel, like TWW but on land. We already got our "mature" Zelda.

Re: Next Zelda should be mature.
Some mature aspects such as darker themes or more realistic emotions could work, but what you want is a little much. A mature relationship with Zelda...it would either be similar to some dumb online sim date flash game or it would be the GTA San Andreas sex minigame that had to be taken out of the game because of ESRB (and thank god too, I'm glad I never saw the narrator say "grid your loins for love").
And where did you see someone say Mario is mature? Because quite frankly Mario is even more kiddy than Zelda, and Zelda isn't even that kiddy of a game in most aspects.

Yeah even in a fantasy world a dead body exploding doesn't really make sense, unless of course they're made out of bombs and gunpowder (which I highly doubt).

.Don't forget, if the game is made more mature, then there will be many people (even some on these forums) who will not be able to play the game. Like I said, Zelda is a gmae targeted at all audiences, and the ESRB are a bunch of.....I won't go there ![]() . I'm not saying it's wrong to want to see some blodd, but don't expect it, becuse they barely let the change to green blood fly (which of course beggs the question how did the red blood get by in the first place ), and I doubt the ESRB would want to see that throughout the game.

Re: Next Zelda should be mature.
You know some blood would be pretty cool, just when link hits an enemy just little drops of blood would fly out, and when he performs his finishing move just a little red mist wouldn't hurt, same when link gets hit, it would work to keep a teen rating, heck, most teen games have gotten away with having blood and gore in their description.

Re: Next Zelda should be mature.
I would like to see more mature themes. You know--loss of a child or parent, infidelity, betrayl, survival, emotional abuse, blackmail, lost love, disability, etc. And happy ones too: sibling love, leadership, integrity, self-sacrifice, creativity, childbirth, etc. All of these and more themes could be explored in depth in the main plot line or side plots.
I would not like to see (and I think I speak for most people in this forum) a de-evolution of Zelda from an intelligent, rich and whimsical game to a dark, grey, soggy medieval chore (like most other games out there). |

Re: Next Zelda should be mature.
I've seen that picture in your sig before (cousin showed me a little Zelda fan-game), so something tells me you want Zelda games to get a little too mature. I don't believe that Zelda should get too much more mature, but they could make a game that is more focused towards older audiences, but it will probably be noncanon to the story since not so many people would be able to play it as they did the rest, leaving many to miss out on elements of the story. Having the story for a series that sticks to a certain rating, such as the Metal Gear series is fine, since the same people will be playing the story, but when a game series that is mainly rated E goes to M, then people would miss out because not everyone has those good parents that allow you to play M rated games (I would know. I have bragging rights over my cousins for this exact reason).

Sibling love is best illustrated in WW with Link and Aryll, and Link continously shows integrity, self sacrifice, and creativity, as well do many other charactors. I completly agree with what you said about deevolving it though.

OoT was supposed to receive a T rating as well because of Ganondorf's fits of blood-coughing at the end (and possibly the concept of being crushed by corpse ass), but Nintendo promised to tone it down. That was bad, Nintendo. *waggles finger*
