Ah, I forgot about them and that rumor... Well, the description in that fake interview would go well with Retro Studios...

Yeah, admittedly, I've only played Halo 1, 2, and MP3 out of those you mentioned (that doesn't mean the games I play are low-budget, thank you), but what I SHOULD have said is "It always turns out bad when people least want it to". Not every single game has bad voice-acting, but-- maybe it's just me-- Zelda seems like a game that wouldn't translate well to spoken dialogue. Most other games start off with it or can't be ruined by it (Metroid), but Zelda...

Also, MP3 only had adequate voice-acting. There wasn't anything spectacular about it, though I guess that can be attributed to its dialogue. It was not bad, however. ("Damn! They're targeting the planetary whatever-I-said-it-was!" Not to mention Samus still didn't speak.)

well the reason i feel voice-acting would be bad in zelda would be the fact that it started without it, and you see characters (not exactly the same link all the time but still) in the new ones, the voice acting would please some but disappoint others since everyone has different ideas on how the voice acting should be.

But since they are not using link again, which should mean Zelda isn't going to appear as much, or have that much dialogue, voice acting in this idea (fake or not) wouldn't disappoint a lot of people.

I'm almost certain it's a fake. That interview originated from 4chan.

Zelda with guns would be horrible. The market is already saturated with shooters, if Zelda get's guns I wouldn't buy it. I'm totally sick of the sight of them now. Zelda is supposed to be a breath of fresh air, not following the stupid gun trend we see in all the new games.

Just because the shooter genre is a popular one, that doesn't mean every new game is a shooter.

The fact that people can believe such utter bull**** is worrying me greatly.
The fact that people think this is a good direction for the series is even more worrying.

I didn't mean every new game, it would be silly to say that. But a lot of today's very popular games are shooters. They seem to have really taken off these past couple of years. I really don't like them and I'm pretty sick of them at the moment. Zelda is supposed to be different. I wouldn't want to see any guns in Zelda.

The gameplay doesn't have to be entirely based around guns or muskets (or whatever the hell they may or may not use), it could just be an item. An item out of the array of Link's many other items he collects throughout his adventures. I'm not saying I support the idea of the implementation of guns in the Zelda series, I just doubt it'd ruin the entire game somehow.

People look at this quote
Quote:
Eiji Aonuma: [laughs] I admit it is rare that share information this early, but I convinced Iwata-san that your writers were trustworthy enough to keep our conversation here confidential until Project Deluge is announced at the expo.

Kyle: In that case, I can assure you the interview here will remain secret until July.
If this is real "Kyle" would have been under contract or some form of forced silence doing this would cause him to get in big trouble.

Well how the hell is link going to come and save the day if he doesn't exist during that time? The hero never comes to the endangered Hyrule before the flood (as stated in the WW) so having no link makes perfect sense.

Also on another note, just because I love this idea doesn't mean I think it's real. Infact I highly doubt this is real, but this is something Nintendo should do sometime in the future.

Re: [Official ]Valley of the Flood / Deluge Thread

This really seems to be dividing fans eh?

Personally I'd love the idea. Something different for once. I mean, it's incredibly likely it's fake, but by no means do I think it's a bad idea

Exactly, this whole idea, and the setting for Hyrule is a really good idea. It would be an amazing game if it were real.

And put this in the back of your minds, TP and PH were the last Zelda of their kind(s).
