Re: [Official ]Valley of the Flood / Deluge Thread

No it wouldn't. I'm a hardcore Zelda fan, my first ever game for any console was aLttP, and I would love a steampunk Zelda. If this game was real, it would be awesome.

By hardcore fan, you obviously mean OoT fan. And I'm fed up with those whiners who won't let the series progress.

Re: [Official ]Valley of the Flood / Deluge Thread

Great idea but i think they should stray from keeping it directly in to the zelda tittle. I think something else, because most of the time zelda is a quest sent to link from the gods, and zelda helping him out.

This seems lke a boy who sent himself with no connection to zelda.

great idea, and the legend of zelda could use a little change, just think they should stray from the legend of zelda tittle, just a little side story to the series.

1. Uhh...what? This is the opposite of fanboy games, fanboys hate this because there's too much change in the type of story (mostly Link not in it, which I'm perfectly fine with).

2. Half the people on this site do not like the WW as much as OoT (BOO!), and quite frankly in my opinion WW was a great game compared to OoT.

3. I hope this is real.

Re: [Official ]Valley of the Flood / Deluge Thread

I wouldn't mind if link wasn't in it, but the basic story line in the zelda games has been that link was sent on a quest to save hyrule by the goddesses, with the aid of zelda, or vice-versa (I'm not so sure about the first few games, I never got the chance to play them but i'm pretty sure thats how it is).

But this game is just a random guy trying to save hyrule cause he thinks he is link.

This image is CONFIRMED fake. It was a mock up for an article written by a Wii fansite covering the Valley of the Flood rumor. They explain this at the bottom of their article.

I'm not an ooT fan, I like the game, but there are others in the series I prefer. Progression and revamping are two different things. Moving to 3D was progress, adding depth to Ganondorf in WW was progress, moving away from Hyrule, but still allowing it to come back when needed was progress, what this describes is a complete revamp of the series. I've already said that some aspects of this sound interesting, but others are just too far from what Zelda is. The technology advances, I think would fit better into Termina anyways (as sethpenguine said) since it is already more advanced then Hyrule, not to mention that despite how much of Hyrule we see in WW, there is absolutly no evidence of a stempunk era anywhere to be found. And if you don't want to play as Link, play another series, I doubt Miyamoto would ever let Link loose his position since it is based on his childhood fantasy, which seems to be quite important to him. Despite what the name of the series is Link is the main chractor, alot of people I know who don't play fantasy/adventure games even think Link's name is Zelda. It would be like not being able to play as Mario, in a Mario title.

Valley of the Flood is probly a cover up. lets all face it, Zelda is ment to be medieval and a steampunk/futuristic zelda wouled be kick in the balls for most hardcore zelda fans

I'm an OoT fan and I probably want change more than anyone (no not more change, change more than anyone.)

Why is that? why not in some where the Zelda series has ever gone before. Has anyone ever noticed how many people think Termina is the 2nd most imported land and almost 1st? Termina was in 1 game 8 years ago.

Nope Nintendo would disappoint you and 10 other fans and since your not the center of the world you lose ha ha.

Vice Versa? Zelda never saves link.

Why is everyone acting as if this game is real that link will be gone forever 1 game cant destroy series a series destroys a series money destroys a series both those thing Nintendo has.

I think this is just because it's somewhere outside of Hyrule we've been, it was quite well done, and it's the same yet different, and alot of people want to see another game there anyways. As I said, I think the technological advances would fit better in there because Termina already is more advanced and closer to it. Although it would be perfectly reasonalble to set it in a new location

That is debatable (in canon games at least). She does aid Link many times with things which do end up saving his hide, she restrains and distracts Ganon, she saves Midna ( no not Link, but there's still some saving ebing done by her),.......and then there are the CD-i games.

I honeslty don't think it's real, but as has been said many times, we'll wait till E3. And one game can destroy a series, with Zelda it would be alot harder given the fanbase, but if people realy don't like what Nintendo has done, it could ruin it. Hopefuly though if it is real, and it isn't good, they'll have enough sense to go back to a more classic Zelda.
Like I've said, i don't like the idea of this, if it's real though, I'll admit, I'm probably going to buy it and hope I was wrong. But the "this is the last Zelda as we know it" thing is still looming ominously in my mind.

Yay but a game can't destroy a Nintendo series and there is only one reason...Money Nintendo has Money to take things back. (for those who need stuff spelled out for them I mean make another game or replacement series, not pay us as bribe.) Oh and sorry I meant to italicize if not is.

Damn, so I won't have any money comming to me?
That's true, but they're still a company, and making less profit is just as good as loosing money. Not only that, but I think Nintendo is the one gaming company that is a little more in touch with thier fans, they aren't only about the money, and buying into one demographic who wants something. They care about the integrity of thier games, and tradition of thier games. Kind of contradicting statements I know, but there is a nice balance between the two somewhere in there.

No I'm not saying there not about the fans I'm saying they got money as a soft landing if the fans are pissed.

But zelda isn't the only series there making money from.

I'm not disputing those facts, but niether of those is is concrete, they will have to play both sides of them to turn up on top. Only care about fans, they loose money and new players, only care about money and the fans will feel betrayed.

If the CD-i games didn't ruin the series, this game won't. In fact I actually hope this is real, or at least something similar. I'm ready for something different.
