At least this is the first time this has happened to you. This is the third time it's happened since I joined.

Yes, it's unrecoverable. We had to go back to our last system backup to remove the hacks as always, so what's gone is gone.

Alright guys, we're spamming agin, there are threads to talk about the hack.

Actually those get shut down. The fact that so much has been lost in demoralizing.
I feel like everything is so pointless now.

What I don't get, Aziel and Mattocks, why wouldn't you like change in Zelda? Mattocks might, byut why, Aziel Raven Satori, why do you not like change?
Do you want it to stick to the ALttP formula?
I like ALttP, it's one of my favorite games, but still, I like change.
Well, I look at this like FF7. It changed the series drastically, but people liked it.
Or what about.... Runescape?
Twice the grapaphics have changed drastically, but people dealt with change.
If this is real, then it could be good change.
(Or it could be another AoL )

I don't mind little changes, but this is quite drastic. Personaly I don't realy know runescape too well, but FFVII wasn't as much of a change as alot of people make it out to be. If anything FFVI was a bigger change, then 7 was just one more step up from that. But the other tyhing to remember is that FFVII wasn't known to be such a good game because it was steampunk, it was because it had a realy good story and strong charactor developement. In fact I know alot of hardcore fans of the series don't even consider FFVII to be in the top 5 games. I think part of this may be because it was such a change from the orginal formula. My favourite was 4, but going from what I know alot of other people like, I think FFVI was the perfect balance. The same needs to be said for Zelda. Before saying that FFVI is about the same as VOF was described, I don't think Zelda has the same setting and feel to pull it off the way FF did. IMO MM seems to be the perfect balance for Zelda.

Um, I forgot. I thought FFVII was the first steampunk one. Me am stoopid.
I want a Zelda that's like MM but more MM-y and less OoT-y
I think MM is my favorite Zelda after WW.
And, if you're wondering about Runescape, drastic changes are always being made. People get over it.
What annoys me is the posts like:

I concour, firstly if that interview is real, having got in from work I, being lazy havent checked the last few pages of what is become a meta-thread, but it says primative guns it's no an AK-47 (that right?) or a bazzoka? The way I look at is like the guns in princess mononoke.

Secondly, an opinon is a apriecieted, degradding someone elses opinons so you can be a hardcore zelda fanboy is not cool. If you want Zelda to stay OOT then go and play OOT. Everything needs change and the thing is Zelda being the game it is, if it has one bad game isn't going to mean that Ninentdo is going to go, "Oh no we've failed, no one is buying it I guess we have to stop making LOZ" no they will re-group and make a better Zelda game. It's ok to make mistakes it's about how you recover which is important.

Did VoF, get proven as fake or is it still all speculation?

It's not possible for Link to be in this game. The reason the goddesses flooded Hyrule was because Link never came. He probably died as an infant or something.

As long as they keep some of the really critical parts of the zelda game (sword-fighting, puzzle-solving, huge boss fights, items), then I officially approve of this idea of VoF. A change like this could open a door to more awesome items. Steampunk, to me, tells me Industrial Revolution. They can make sort of science-fictiony by making items that LOOK like they belong in the era that VoF is taking place.

I can see it now; a massive sidequest involving a train system connecting all of hyrule. Getting new and awesome items from inventors from all over the land. Since it wouldn't have that 'simple time' feel that came from the vast plains of hyrule with its villages instead of big cities, the storyline could be buffed up using issues common in the time of, say, the late 19th century to early 20th century. So, in short, I'm just saying how the steampunk Zelda could work.

However, since Miyamoto is trying to give a new experience so that casuals will feel more comfortable playing the game, I don't think they'll go with the whole delusional fantasy of a fake hero. Since new players won't know the famous legend of the triforce bearers and the timeline, I don't think they'll go with that approach. This speculation on the VoF could be half true and half bs. Every big rumor or whatever has its roots in truth. Maybe not all of it, but some of this is probably true.

And, for the current and apparent arguement that is ensuing in this thread, this is what I have to say: in order to survive, change is necessary. It's evolution (sorry for some religious people that reject the 'theory'). If the series didn't change it would end up just like the mammoths or the American buffalo (extinct). If zelda didn't change, it would still be the same 2d, old graphic game from the early 90's. Change has to occur for it to remain appealing. Even the most hardcore conservatives realize when things should change.

That's my argument, anyway.
