Beyond Hyrule...
Hyrule has become somewhat a second home to me over these years and yet, I have always wondered... To travel elsewhere, to some alien place where the familair loses all aspects and the unknown yearns to be found.
The possibilities ar endless (?) What lies beyond Death Mountain or past the Gerudo Desert... The borders that had limited us to the humble lands of Hyrule broken and we see new places, a diffrent landscape and wonderful new people or wiked villians. As I usually state, I am a writer of Fan-Fictions and it is my yearning to create something new. To shred the familar and uncover something else. What do you think comrades? What would it be like? Some Zelda games have traveled beyond the realms and success followed (Majora's Mask and Links Awakening) and yet, at the same time they have managed to remain familar. What do you think of Link journeying beyond... In the dawn of a story I am curretly working on a map (lacking the proper needings to scan and bad art programs, I have instead used MSN paint)... I'll post it to you and allow a look at what has been done so far: ![]() Here is the guide to the Numbers: 1. ELEGY FORTRESS 2. REQUIEM TEMPLE 3. MUSIC BOX TOWN 4. MUSIC BOX TOWN CEMETARY 5. ABANDONED CAMP (Entry Point Into Sonnet Region) 6. BATTLEFIELD REMNANTS, RIGHT SIDE 7. BATTLEFIELD REMNANTS, LEFT SIDE 8. POE SALESMAN (Cliche? You may believe that if you wish) 9. NOTE SCIENTIFIC FACILITY (Astronomy/Religious Study/Ect.) 10. RHYME BOAT RENTALS 11. SECLUDED/SECRET DOCKING PORT 12. SYMPHONY VALLEY (Dark Brown = Mountain/ Light = Valley) 13. NAVAL ENCAMPMENT (Owned by Major Character: General. Blair) 14. SINKER'S FISHING AND BOAT RENTALS 15. WHITE NOTE OASIS 16. GREAT FAIRY FOUNTAIN 17. LULLABY BRIDGE 18. THE RIVER OF A THOUSAND TEARS 19. ODE RANCH 20. FREE VERSE ROAD As you probably noticed the names all seem to have to do around musical sbjects and such. In the 'Sonnet Province', the culture is highly inspired by music. I also hoped to reintroduce the Ocarina. Also, I have some major ideas for Music Box Town. Any opinions or suggestions? This is all I got for the map as of yet. |

Re: Beyond Hyrule...
well, back to the whole "what lies beyond the border" thing. To me, I made a fanfic of what lied beyond death mountain, and my fanfic was called "The Legend of Zelda: Sea of Time".
Quick summary of my fan fic: beyond death mountain lies a vast ocean that is known as the Sea of Time. When one travels across the ocean on the Hylian Ship, that person becomes younger or older, depending on what lands he journeys too.

Re: Beyond Hyrule...
But there already are games where Link sets out in a jorney. In Link's Awakening he was on a dream islan, the oracle series was located in Holodrym and Labrynna, Majora's Mask was in Termina... There would and should be more lands to explore in the Zelda-world. I would hope that there would be more to the plot of the next game than just a unnamed menace that just comes from nowhere and in Phantom Hourglass they discovered a new world too. Other lands and diplomatical sityations are needed to deepen the Whole world of Zelda.
Maeby either some ancient, unknown legend other than the Triforce/Ganon story or an entiery new story to make new legends. I liked the way the legend of the Ocean King was entirely new, but the problem in PH was the shortness of the game due the experimental level of new controlls. Tp in turn was massive in aspect of the world, but rather empty. There were only few minigames and not much pastime fun. Side quests should be brought up again like they vere in Majora's Mask but they should not let it eat the game since there was only four temples on MM. They should make a Zelda game that is big in plot, rich in characters and plentifull in sidequests. It is a huge load of work, but in the end it would be bigger than any Zelda-game before. Theu sould not let rumors out too soon but release some other smaller games on the side, for DS of even GBA, of makin the one big one that would come out on Wii. They already have the potential broken in parts in other games, they only need to bring them together to make one complete and massive game. (Sorr about the long rambling...)

Re: Beyond Hyrule...
If thats directed towards my original post and map I have considered that and I've even finished up some work on the map(s)... I just wouldn't know how to go about it.
![]() ![]() ![]() (MSN Paint is a painstakingly Long Process) Guilthas... I agree completely with you. I also want to somewhat disconnect with Hyrule because it seems that Ganon and Hyrule go hand in hand. |
