Great Sea or Hyrule?

Should the next Zelda game have the Great Sea, Hyrule, Or A combination where you switch between the Great Sea and Hyrule?

Re: Great Sea or Hyrule?

A bit of both would be nice. One or two huge main islands surrounded by an ocean which is dotted with loads of smaller islands. A game like that would be great in my opinion. I'd like to see the Great Sea return in future games with ghost ships, sunken treasure, enemy pirate ships, friendly merchant ships, fisherman and customizable ships. There would still be loads of towns and NPC's on the main islands though. Imagine the Hyrule of TP split into two islands with an ocean and many smaller islands similar to the size they are in TWW.

If I had to choose from another TWW-esque game or one totally based on land I would pick the latter but a combination of both would be great. I doubt that'll happen though.

I was thinking possibly that the dark world was not covered by Ocean, and the normal was(Then you could warp between Great sea and Dark world).

Re: Great Sea or Hyrule?

Needs both... Here's something from the new zelda story I'm making up:

"Five years after that Link died, three great rifts appeared, one through the center of the Hyrulean continent, another separating the Desert, and the third separating the Sheikea. Not only that, but the first went directly through the center of the Hyrulean Main City. These rifts filled with sea water, and grew in size immensely. By following these fast-flowing waters, the people could get to the sea at an incredible rate. Somehow, however, this seemed to infuriate the Zoras, who declared war on the Hyruleans and the Sheikah, aided by a most unlikely ally, the..."

Re: Great Sea or Hyrule?

athough proving a great point this would make a huge map wow just imagine. This would also cause conflicts in the story line like with the great sea there would have to be a link between the story and the sea or else it would make no sence to have it in the game and also with hyrule... anyone get what im saying?

Would be nice, except I was picturing 3 or so large, hyrule sized mainlands and maybe a smaller one with the castle on it, all suspended on a huge grid of smaller islands. (hopefully with more to explore on each island than in Wind Waker. Its fine to just have a useless mass of land every once in a while, but I found myself too often traveling to an island to find absolutely no use for the island.) While you should have a boat designated to you like the king of red lions was in tWW, you should also be able to buy and sell horses specific to each mainland. The purpose of having three large lands is to represent the three gods, and although there would be a land dedicated to Farore, you would start on a town-sized island off the coast of the Farore mainland.

This game could take place during the draining or flooding periods.
