The Official Zelda Remake Thread

Do you have a burning desire to see the Zelda games of yore remade in the visual and audial glory of today's gaming technology on the Wii or even DS? Do you want to see LttP, LA, or even the Oracles remade in full 3D? Want to see OoT or MM updated with TP or Brawl quality graphics? Then this thread is for you!

From now on, all remake ideas are to be shared in this thread. If you want to see an old game remade, tell us all about it here. Therefore any further threads made on remake ideas will simply be merged into this one. That way, all the old-timers who are tired of seeing such threads go up almost daily, as well as the newcomers who would wish to talk about remakes without getting scolded, can all be happy.


Also, if anyone posts in this thread saying anything along the lines of "NO REMAKES, WE WANT A NEW ZELDA!"--then you're officially stupid. Yes, of course we all would rather have a new title over a remake, and we equally acknowledge that a remake of any kind has no likelihood at this point in time. But original titles are what the rest of the Future Zelda section is for. This particular thread is for those who like to speculate and have fun with the possibility of remakes of old favorites can indulge in hypothetically polishing the classics.

Like anyone, I'd definitely rather a brand new game than a remake but if I had to choose a game to remake it would be between two games: ALTTP or AoL.

I'd love to see the world of ALTTP brought into 3D with the Wii's graphics (I know they're not great compared to the other major consoles, but they're still capable of producing some great visuals). The official art for ALTTP (I've put some examples in the album in my profile) looks absolutely epic and if they could make Hyrule of ALTTP actually look like it does in the official art it would be wonderful. It would also be interesting to see some of the items given a new fresh look.

The same goes for AoL. The villages, the NPC's, the enemies and the landscape would look absolutely epic in 3D. The game almost cries out to be remade; it has the difficulty and magic galore that Zelda fans are crying out for these days. Perhaps the difficulty should be toned down a little, and some of the RPG elements could be removed. Obviously the main grievance most people have with the game is that it's a side-scroller; that issue would be removed in 3D.

I would love to see an LA remake. It's one of the most complex, beautiful and emotive of all Zelda legends. A Wii remake could be truly phenomenal!

As said in my thread before....A Link to the Past remake would be AWEEEESSSSOOOOMMMMMEEEEE. Holy crap I mean cmon the dark world and light world plus if they actually made the map exactly like how it is in the game the world would be bigger than the one in Twilight Princess. I don't think Lttp is that much like Oot so they could definately pull it off. The idea just excites me soooooo much I just wish I could persuade Nintendo to do it lol. I mean, if we're not talking graphics here and just going by plot&play I would have to say Lttp is my favorite Zelda. I'm sorry I'm rambling but it would be sooo cool!!!!

i think it would be kool if they remade all the 2D games into 3D. and remake OOT with some new graphics like TP

Some Zelda remakes I would like to see would be the two original Zelda games, LoZ and AoL. Although LoZ was practically remade with OoS, I would very much like to see a 3D remake of it. For sure. And as Hugh stated, a 3D AoL remake would be absolutely epic. Although I would very much like them to keep the RPG elements in it. That game would be just amazing if remade I think. Though I would still prefer a new game.

You mean, you think ALttP should be completely redone? You can use the GBA game with the DS (that's what I've got). If ALttP were remade (something closer to the original game than OoT), I would like to see it for the larger console(s) rather than a handheld system.

I dont think Alttp should be done for DS. I'd like to see it on Wii with twilight princess graphics. I actually think it would be better than twilight princess when put on the same platform...

I think that it woud be so cool if they made they remade the Minish Cap for the Wii. I'd like to see how much better the graphics were, and if they made the puzzles harder.
