which style will they use for the next zelda on wii?

If this has a thread already im sorry. Its made me think that if there is a new zelda game on the wii. Which style of graphics will it go for this time, will it go for the sweet cel shade look again or will it be as dark looking as TP. Also will they go for kid link or adult? or maybe even both again

I like the traditional look. The Wii obviously has much greater capacity than the GC had, though, so it would vastly improve upon what TP could do.

I agree with Siper2. The next Zelda game will probably a direct sequel to TP (just about every Zelda game gets a direct sequel) on the Wii. This means that they should make it realistic.

Well, for the very next, I'd say TP style. Like Sage of stars said, it likely to be a direct sequel (maybe, really I have no idea). I wouldn't mind seeing another WW style. I wouldn't mind playing as a child again either really.

More than likely they'll choose the adult Link and stick with a dark look. And if it's a direct sequel to TP then they'll have to choose adult Link and dark look.

i hope they go for kid link again. I heard TP didn't do as well as they thought for sales (did anyone else hear that) so maybe they'll have a rethink. The next wii one should be really good too because it will have all the motion control. The proper kind not the half arsed that was on TP

Oh, my God - NO MORE CEL-SHADING. I'm sick of the childish theme Zelda had in Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass. Especially Phantom Hourglass because it just didn't look well. I understand that it was the DS and they can't improve the graphics as well as they want, but it still looked terrible.

I don't care if child Link shows up again, I just hope that the whole game has a darker feel to it. I liked Twilight Princess' graphics. They were one of the only reasons I bought it in the first place.

Cel Shading doesn't make a game childish, it allows for a younger look on the game that can be appreciated by all ages. However that being said I don't think the next game will be Cel Shaded. It will most likely be a Twilight Princess sequal and thus Have realistic Graphics (there has never been a significant change in artstlye between sequals.
PS. I was also disapointed by PH's graphics as well, Animal Crossing Wild World had far superior graphics and was realeased two years earlier.

I would like cel shading. PH was hideous, I need more pleasant cel shading.

It'll be probably be realistic unfortunately.

Where did you hear that? I heard that TP was supposed to be the last Zelda game of its kind but that doesn't mean that there can't be a sequel.

Yeah Majora's Mask could be considered an entirely different "kind" to OoT despite it being its sequal.

Well, I sure didn't like it at all. From Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, I found that there was more comicality that kids enjoyed. Such as Link's expressions. Are you honestly telling me that a four year olds AND adult gamers who watch Link's expressions will all laugh at them? No, just the four year olds. Sure they're a little funny, but Zelda is supposed to be dark. You wouldn't go through something like Wind Waker in real life going "Oh, there's a big, fat guy with a red beard tryin' to take over the world, so let's play with the pigs!" There was just too much FUN to do. Sure there are minigames in almost all Zelda games but just playing them in cel shade form made it seem like I was a sixteen year old playing a game that was meant for babies.

The chances of a Twilight Princess sequel being developed are about as good as my dead great grandmother clawing her way out of the ground and defeating the Cloverfield monster. With it's horrible sales, I don't think that the creators of would want to even attempt a follow-up. The next game will probably be even more epic than Twilight Princess was advertised to be. And I hope to GOD that the graphics are realistic. The people look better, the landscape looks awesome, and it makes it feel more like you're actually Link defeating armies of Babas and Bulbins. If it isn't real and scary, it's only childish and cartoony and ridiculously stupid.

Yeah, it used the same graphics, it had some of the "same" characters, but it had a darker storyline, it took place in a foreign, unfamiliar land, it introduced a time limit, it was almost entirely made up of trading sequences and minigames, it introduced the ability to shapeshift...

Ocarina of Time, in my opinion, is a great game and an instant classic. It had the classic elements of the hero, the princess, the bad guy, soldiers, castles, horses, swords, magic... It only elaborated on more than that.

Majora's Mask had one of the most unique storylines of the Zelda series. I've never read a book, watched a movie, or played a game where the moon was gonna fall down on top of a clock tower in 72 hours.

Majora's Mask changed the face of the Zelda series in it's own way, which makes it unique in many ways.

Re: which style will they use for the next zelda on wii?

What if they made Zelda look more like anime? That pretty much means "cartoony", but it wouldn't be in the same style as WW. The characters would be shaped more realistically (Toon Link's head is huge!) and they would also have outlines. Anime can also be dark. If you don't believe me, then you've obviously never seen Death Note. Maybe the game could even have an opening that doesn't seem to make sense lol.

Wind Waker's expressions are funny no matter how old you are. When he was about to get catapulted, and when he hit the Tower of the Gods was hilarious. Plus the graphics don't just add humor to the game, they add depth. You can really Tell toon Link was angry when he was fighting the Helmaroc King, he showed a lot of emotion when he found out who Tetra and TKORL were.

Well unless you know a necromancer it is significantly more likely. Twilight Princess sold very well in the U.S. and every main series Zelda game so far has had a sequel

Re: which style will they use for the next zelda on wii?

I suppose "Zelda Wii" will have fancy graphics since it'll be released on a system that's twice as good as the GC. As for the graphics style, I guess they will play it safe and go with the style they used in TP. They will most likely expand on the graphics and style to make it even prettier.. and bigger.

I would be very disappointed if the next Zelda didn't use all of the Wiimote and the Nunchuck's abilities. Nintendo wanted to revolutionize gaming and I don't feel like the revolution will be complete until they give us 1:1, or something close to 1:1, sword control. The IR pointer in TP feels sluggish compared to other Wii games, they'd need to improve on that.

They also need to come up with a new formula for Zelda games, I am sick of having to collect three random items to get access to the Master Sword and then collect some more to fight Ganon or whatever villain is in charge. Zelda needs some change IMHO.

The core of Zelda are still the dungeons and they need to make them less linear and more like mazes. I want to get lost in dungeons! It's way too easy to just go along whatever route they have prepared for you, as in TP. They should focus a bit on the caves as well. TP tried to do more realistic caves (less holes in the ground) but I feel like they need to be bigger and longer. Having caves as semi-dungeons or even complete dungeons would be great.

I think I'll stop here, some of this stuff is a bit OT - sorry
