Play as Zelda?

Just think of what Nintendo could do to Zelda so that people will enjoy playing as her. Change into Shiek, use magic, and tons of other stuff. There are a lot of possibillities

I think it's astonishing that people assume that playing as Zelda would mean she had to turn herself into Sheik, escape from prison, fight a "weaker" boss than Ganon, or have help from the Sages. She's a woman, not disabled. Yeesh.

If u want to play as zelda u only need play Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Just because there was this cd-i game that wasn't even made by Nintendo doesn't mean that if Nintendo decides to make Zelda the main character, then game MUST suck like it did with the cd-i. That's just oversimplifying things.

Anyways, I think that Zelda as the main character would be a great idea. Not only would she break the monotony of being the same silent, almost lifeless hero but also introduce a new storyline or quest. Zelda also has a lot of potential as a character in both personality and gameplay. Think of all the things you can learn from Zelda who is often vague in most games. And also think of how you can run around playing as Zelda and using all sorts of bizarre spells and attacks. I'd be more hyped than ever if they announce Zelda as the main character for the next LoZ installment. In fact, I'm up for any character that is not Link. Seriously, are you guys not sick of all the monotony? After playing TP, all I want for the Zelda series is to break free through change. A big change.

lol, everyone is thinking ZELDA = PRINCESS PEACH. uuh uhhhhhr. wrong. princess peach would worry about her dress being dirt - wait?!, wasn't she playable in loads of games including SPM?? lol.

so to the majority of people's logic, a very girl princess peach is playable in lots of successful games, but a much less girly and much more in depth good character zelda as the main protagonist would make a terrible game?

erm.. that doesn't make sense. if peach can make it over and over, zelda can.


EDIT: just in case people say in contradict myself from other posts, they're right. i've always been against playing as zelda, but i only just realised why - this post. i think it would be a good idea, after getting into my head the actual good that could come from the gameplay elements.

stop using that as an excuse. you might as well say "platform games are **** because there was a bad one made in 1989. therefore, platforms are bad and shouldn't ever be made. they suck."

CD-I wasn't a Wii. this is now, not 1995. as i said before, peach is more girly than zelda, and she's used a lot in mario games, as a playable character. zelda is a much stronger character - why is it such a problem that she could be a playable character? people need to to step outside of their same story every time boxes.

lol, they truly were terrible. just people are using "they tried using zelda as the playable character in CD-I. it sucked" as a reason for not using zelda in an official zelda nintendo game on an official nintendo wii console 18 years later.

Nintendo would definately make a playable Zelda better than the CD-I game.

Think, Nintendo is the creator of Zelda, not Sony. Nintendo knows more about the Zelda games more than Sony. So Nintendo can make a better game than Sony. So that doesn't mean that because the CDI games sucked doesn't mean that a playable Zelda made by Nintendo would suck as much as the CDI games. The Zelda game would probably make the CDI games look worse than they are now.

i'm guessing if she were playable, she'd be like the 'sheik zelda' from OoT. that kind of zelda is capable of a lot more than what you see when she'd portrayed as a 'princess peach'.

She could transform back and forth, like if she had to do a puzzle that involved alot of physical action she could transform into Sheik. If she needed to use magic she'd stay in her original form. and you could transform whenever you want and there is no time limit to play as Sheik.

Or maybe you could just be Shiek it would close some doors but open alot
