Something that involves the same Link and the same game engine, but doesn't take place in Hyrule and has very little/no relevance to the overall story of the previous game.
You know, just like Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask and Phantom Hourglass. |

in my version he would battle a dragon as the first boss and then tame it, the rest of the game the dragon would fly above him the whole time, give him rides and advice. i love dragons...

Midna could come back if you think about it, because Zant broke the Mirror of Twilight into Shards. But he still managed to get to and from the Twilight Realm, but its not explained or established how he does it. If he can do it, Midna surely can being as shes Twilight Princess. So there could be some more story there, was Zant dead at the end of the last game? Maybe, maybe not. I cant think of a plot off off the top of my head though. Maybe when Midna broke the Mirror, it unbalanced light and shadow, causing some concequence? Who knows...
What would be cool, I think, is something called the Battle of the Triforce or something, with a massive battle taking place at Hyrule Castle. Midna bringing her people, Zelda bringing Hyrulian soldiers, and Link there too, defending Hyrule Castle from Ganon or Zant or someone, would be good, with Zelda and Midna fighting too, all around Hyrule Castle, maybe shooting arrows and bombs down at the enemy and trying to stop them from entering the Castle. Would be a good climax, anyway, just an idea ![]() Last edited by twilight09; 05-04-2008 at 11:28 AM. |

Hey, I just finished TP again tonight and I was studing the ending because som many people thought it was cheesy (there's a whole thread about it) and something that I thought was interesting was that just before Midna shattered the mirror she said, "Link... I..."
What does it mean? A secret affection? A hint that she'll pop up in another game? I can only hope...

Remember the 2nd wii zelda/tp sequel will have to continue something from the first. Such as the sea/wind from WW to PH and time travel from OOT to MM. My guess is it will either be something with animals to connect to make a connection to the wolf.

Taking a stand for what seemed right a while ago.

YES, it WOULD be. You obviously don't realize that games need to be new to be... new. Simple as can be. OoT, as many gamers cheer on, was known as the greatest game of all time for quite a while. But keep releasing the same game with newer graphics, and some new fighting style, and you've got what's called a franchise falling from glory.
Judging from your post, you would be classified as an OoT Fanboy. And no, fanboy doesn't mean special club memberships or cookies of fridays. Fanboy means you're willing to defend something, no matter what it is, in debate, in the physical world, and in what you hope for the future. Fanboys often turn into idiotic liars and people that make up their own truths. And, if nobody's said this before, OoT's overrated. Deal with it.

Well make Hyrule bigger and like a horse will be part of the transportation, yet you can fight Dodongos and like tame them to use them as like tanks (slow yet heavy power). More swords, destructable things, more dragon battles, customizable tunics or shields. But I personally think its too much.

I was thinking that Midna needs help,(Like zant comes back to life) so you have to go back there (With some wierd quest to get the miror back together) and once your there, the twighlight realm will be huge world with multuple all this fun stuff. And maybe get the abilty to turn into the wolf again... Also some of the things should be bigger. Links village so tiny. Exspand it a bit. Maybe they could make people could be walking in and out of towns. A goron city (Like in OoT) and a much bigger zora's domain. And WE NEED BOSSES THAT ARE A CHALLANGE!!!! This game needed harder bosses.

I stole this idea from an old thread, but maybe Midna's kid, link's kid, and zelda's kid?
Ganondorf's son could be the villain. imagine a 25 yr old ganondorf. |

Read this forum for my idea
Idea for the next Zelda game i just made up, your thoughts? Ill sum it up though, Fierce deity link is actually link's alternate self from termina, and is his opposite and somehow is also reborn in the tp link along with the hero of time. think about it, final boss is FIERCE DEITY LINK. how kick ass would that be? Last edited by Xeves; 05-11-2008 at 12:27 PM. Reason: spelled deity wrong |

Ugh. Yeah. I mean, I hate to compare Zelda to Spyro, but Spyro's bosses are WAY harder to beat. It took me like, a bajillion tries to kill the final boss on The Legend of Spyro, a New Beginning. You have to kill them two, sometimes three times like in Zelda each time being harder, but most of the Zelda bosses are really pathetic. I mean, you have this massive armoured dragon and by pulling it gently to the ground and hitting a crystal on its back you kill it. It's really not as hard as it should be. The final bosses should be way tougher too. Like, you work for hours and hours to finish the game and the final boss is almost as easy as any other (speaking specifially about TP). It should end with a bang! Vaati from TMC wasn't bad, but Ganondorf was to easy.

It seems that in the franchise of the Legend of Zelda it is fairly easy to defeat any of the bosses in the 3D games. Think of the 2D games like the original Legend of Zelda where you just tried to fricking survive the dungeons and you died at least twice before figuring out a bosses weakness. Or Link to the Past where even if you beat the game three bajillion times the bosses are still tough. (Of course maybe I'm just a noob and die everytime I come to a boss in LttP
) The problem with ever coming up with a new story idea is making sure that it is enjoyable by 10 year olds and 20 year olds alike. This is why Twilight Princess gets such a negetive reaction. A ten year old only plays a game for the games sake which is why the Mario franchise flourishes. This is why Phantom Hourglass went back to gameplay only. It's not a great story, in fact the plot is subpar, really not a huge in-depth thing like MM. But it's still a great game. Sorry to rag on like this, but I just had to get these things out. For the next Zelda what I would probably have is dual weilding swords or a way to unequip your shield to make combat faster. Since I haven't played TP on the Wii I don't know what the controls are like but I would like to fight against people by swinging around the remote and chopping off people's heads. His tunic should be customizable in appearance only, otherwise we're heading down into RPG land, and that my friends would ruin Zelda. If there were to be a sequal for TP it would logically take place in a different world since every Zelda sequel has always taken place in a seperate world. OOT in Hyrule -> MM in Termina, LttP in Hyrule -> LA in Koholit Island, WW in Great Ocean -> PH in some other place on the ocean. Like-wise the villian will not be Ganondorf cause he's never in any of the sequels. They would still have to have his were-wolf ability but they should really expand it more. Midna will not return since Navi our previous sidekick never returned in the sequel and really how are you going to get her out of the Twilight Realm after she shattered the one and only connection between the two worlds. What I would really like but not in a TP sequel is for Link to actually fight in a war with two opposing sides and people actually dying left right and center around you. For the past 21 years Link has been killing hordes of monsters all by himself. Let's have an actual war, but not in the sequel. Finally I would like to see the return of the Deku as a really powerful race akin to the Deku Shrubs in MM. I would really like to see a return of picking up monsters weapons but being able to keep them until the end of the dungeon. Likewise there should be multiple ways to kill a boss since they've pretty much worn out the use of finding a weapon that specifically kills the boss of that dungeon, it would seem a little stupid for Ganondorf to keep leaving these powerful weapons that can kill him and his minions in his dungeons. Instead there should be mini-dungeons to find the weapons needed to kill the next boss. Sorry this is so long.

I would really love a TP sequel. I think it would have to be very different from TP or any Zelda game before, though, especially with all the new potential unlocked by the Wii.
Exploring the potential of Wolf Link more would be great. Of course, to do that you would need to bring Midna and/or the Twilight back, which I would have no problem with. However, if Midna wasn't there (perhaps in need of rescue, if twilight returned...?) it would offer more chance for character development of Zelda. She had really very little role in the game, which I found rather disappointing. (See my post in the Game Where You Actually Play As Zelda Thread...) If Zelda was playable, I think it would be very interesting and challenging for her to have a completely different fighting style. After all, she has a rapier, which you would not use at all like you use a longsword. She also has her bow and arrows, as well as her magic. Speaking of which, there should be magic. We all know that Hylians are supposedly the best at magic--and yet I can think of one time when I have seen a Hylain use magic of their own. In Japan, LOZ was released as Hyrule Fantasy, I think, so it would make sense for it to be more fantasy-like, if only based on this. I also thought that the Twilight Realm made no sense. You call three buildings floating in the sky a realm? If twilight returns, then I think the Twilight Realm should be expanded and explored deeper. Perhaps beneath the Palace there is level upon level of shadowy city, rising up into the dusky sky...

Long before before i joined ZU, i had been writing and idea for a TP sequel that involved TP Link saving Termina from Majora. I had written four versions of the story, the fourth was the one i chose to make into a fafic.
Version 1 of the story:The Twilight returns only this time Termina is covered with it. Zant could also return but this time he's got Majora's Mask with him.I had to scrap it and start all over because Zant is killed in TP. Version 2: Link must save Termina from not the moon, but the sun. This i scrapped because there was n way that the Four Giants were gonna be able to lift something as heavy and hot as the sun. Version 3: Link and Midna go to Termina and must save it from Zant and Majora. This i scrapped because it was similar to the first version of the script. Version 4: This one was used for the fanfic.

Don't get me wrong -TP is probably my favorite Zelda game to date. However, going off the way the game ended, I really don't think there's room for a (direct) sequel.
If TP does get a sequel, it'll be like MM was to OoT. Same main character, but almost everything else is different. I'd rather have a WW/PH sequel or a completely new Zelda, personally. |

Twilight Princess did end on a bit of a cliff hanger, it would be cool to see some sort of a Twilight Princess sequel (as its the best Zelda game to date IMO) but with some new mixed in there. Best of both then. I would love to explore more of the Twilight Realm, as Hylian Princess said, the Twilight Realm surely can't be just Midna's home, 3 buildings. Im definitely all for seeing Midna again, I think too much time was invested in the character to not somehow be used again. As for Termina making a reappearance? Hmm, Not sure. In Majoras Mask it was good yes, but I think everything happened there that could. Hey ho.

Yes! Someone actually responds to my post!
I feel like everything I post is invisible sometimes... Yeah. And there has to be more than what, ten Twili? Plus Midna. Eleven people hardly constitutes a race... I agree that there was too much done to Midna to abandon her now. While her character may not actually develop any farther, we may see different sides of her. And TP was an abrupt and rather cliff-hanger ending, so I hope that the sequel concludes the TP story more satisfactorily.
