Paper Mario...what about zelda?

Seeing that paper mario was such a hit, I've always wondered why they haven't done it with zelda yet? A risky move, but it did work with mario right. I'm not saying they "should" over here. I'm just saying they "could" do it.

Paper Zelda/Link, this element will be lacking.

No. It really wouldn't do any good. Paper Mario is a funny game and Zelda is a dark series.

Paper Mario is great, but it just wouldn't work with Zelda. It'd be too childish/goofy to be taken seriously by most fans.

This idea is absolutely ridiculous. Paper Mario is a light-hearted, humurous, turn-based RPG series. Zelda is a dark (Especially with MM and TP), serious adventure series.

Mario and Zelda are completely different series with a completely different atmosphere and a completely different style of gameplay. Mario is light-hearted, Zelda is dark. Mario (Not including spin-offs) is a platformer, while Zelda is an adventure game.

The only way I think this could work is... No, wait, I don't think this could work.

Well they er have a SONIC rpg! Not like zelda ether, more likt Tales of Symphonia and other such games. I found myself laughing as ganondorf gets smoked for like the hundredth time. gah, didn't think this'd be so popular. Link's gestures can be amusing in some cases.

we dont need to change zelda and go downt he CD-i road again, Zelda2 is the biggest faliure of the zelda series, and it wasnt that big of a falure becuase it kept the bacis zelda aspects, paper zelda would go down the CD-i road though.

1:That's one opinion! Sure the games are a bit...different. But at least the graphics r getting better. (not by much, but still better)

Seeing as how Zelda already has its stylized games (WW, PH), I doubt they would ever make a Paper Zelda. However, if they did, I could see it happening in the same vein as Super Paper Mario for the Wii. I think it would fit a lot better as an action/platformer than a RPG.

Very true, but I got one thing to say. This was just a little idea, not to be taken too seriously. All well, at least I put it out there. That's what I do man! And about graphics and gameplay, er. . . some of the games on my Wii have good gameplay but bad graphics. And also, what makes you think Zelda is dark? The only evil I see in zelda is Ganondorf.

The Zelda games are dark. Not because of their evil villains but because of their stories as well. Twilight Princess's had Twilight covering the land because a man didn't get what he wanted and succumbed to Ganondorf's lustful desire for power.

And in Adventure Of Link, Ganon's minions want to resurrect their master and they need the blood of Link to do it. How can that one not be dark?

In A Link To The Past seven maidens who are descendants of the Seven Wise Men who sealed Ganon away, are sort of "sacrificed" by Agahnim. He wants to open up the portal to the Dark World to bring back Ganon...except you don't know if Agahnim is being possessed or not.

And in Majora's Mask a moon is about to crash down into a country in three days.

What is not dark about the Zelda games? You have to think about the storyline about darkness...not the villains. And no graphics don't cut the Zelda games for darkness, the storyline does.

I love the idea, but...like other people have already said, I don't think it would work. Even in paper-style, it would seem too 'serious', and the Paper Mario style of dialogue wouldn't work at all in a Zelda game.

Nice idea, though. I just don't think it would work as well as Paper Mario has, and would be lacking overall.
