Co-op Zelda

Listen, this would be ruining the tradition for LoZ, but either way this would be a great addition to the series.

Instead of having to watch your friends and take turns, you could both play at the same time!

Sure, the four swords is sorta like it, but not on a 3-D scale. Also with it would come online mode for LoZ. I personally love this idea (yet I don't have a clue how they'd do it...)

It would be neat, but I think it's one of those ideas they will probably never do.

The idea has possibilities, if they do it right, it would be a great addition to the series

Yeah I've always been wondering if Zelda would be coop one day. They would have to put alot of time and planning as to not ruin the game. But if devised the right way I'm sure it would be great

I could see that being good but it would be hard to make it feel like zelda.

I really like playing myself. If it were co op it wouldn't be the same. There shoud be one hero. Only one.

Exactly. There's only one hero in the Legend of Zelda games. If they made a co-op Zelda, they would have to do one hell of a change to the Zelda Story Line.

Four Swords (Adventures) anyone?

I'd hate a 3D multiplayer/co-op Zelda. No split screen, please. It's like taking Elder Scroll's IV: Oblivion or God of War and making it into a co-op game. The Zelda series is more epic as a single player game.

Well, if it were multiplayer it wouldn't be so bad if they remade one of the other games into multiplayer. Like, if they made another co op version of TP they could have someone play as Midna as well as Link. I personally would NEVER play it but for those who think that co op woud be a good idea...

I say yes, because it would ease my pain, against my brother. So I don't have to hear him fuss because "I'm playing, and he isn't".

It would be... Strange?
Firstly, how should they solve the problem with placement on the screen. Should it be Split screen either horisontal or vertical, or just one screen with both in sight? Either way would limit the options. Could you fight eachother or would the swords pass through eachother, and will things like drinking potions, using fairies or using things that would normally pause the game pause the game for both players, only for one or not for anyone? Also, should they be able to stay in two different areas, as that would be pointless when Co-Oping? What will happen if someone talks with others? What about enemy "loot" such as hearts and rupees? Will they share the money, have seperate helth bars? What can be done to evenly share the hearts to avoid one player from taking them all.. It's so many things that will not work out in such a game.

Wow. Smart thinking... that basically shut down this entire idea...

Except...

What if Zelda was like an MMO? You know, have many different Links online and you could meet up with them anywhere in Hyrule? That might be the only possible way to have co-op.

That. Would. Suck!
Don't take it offensive, but if Nintendo made a MMO(RPG) that would be both milking of the franchise and a bad game. You can not have more Links online! That would not work out. On the other hand, if they made a MMO, I'd prefered it to be taking place in a not yet explored time in the timeline, and with no Ganon. A new enemy should be rising, and you could play like Zora, Goron or Sheikah or something, and join the fight. Perhaps sometime before OoT, to participate in the Fierce Wars?

Hmm, sounds cool. But I think that they should have more then one characters that you could play with. Although I think zelda is best the way it is.

I think this would be a cool idea. The only down side to this would be who? I wouldn't have Zelda co-oping with link. AH! this is hard. Iv only played TP OOT LOZ and PH. I want to play the others so i could find out what characters are a possibility. OH! I KNOW! Instead of Zelda, how about Sheik?! That would be cool. I guess she could have the same moveset as the Smash bros series.

That would be pretty awesome! I played FSA with my friend and it was fun but I see what you mean by you want it in 3-D graphics. Also not with the gameboy. It was annoying to have to look down at it every two seconds.

This would be considered a 4Sword for Wii, only it has 3D graphics. Quite ineteresting, or in DS.

I'd LOVE it, anybody remember the Wind Waker and how you could play as...*spoilers* those sages during that temple? I thought those puzzles would've been so much faster if I could control them both at once or something. Definitely, that convinced me that if they ever made a co-op game that was 3d it would probably be pretty win.

doubt it would sell much though.

It would be very interesting, I like the Idea of Link and Zelda going on an adventure together, but somehow I think it would have a really uncomfortable feeling.
I think it would be awesome if they made 2-4 player, simotaneous mini games! Like a shooting range were you take turns with your friends to see who gets the most points, that'd be sweet.

I just started playing Majoras Mask again, and I must say, they put so much depth into that game with all these side quests and what not. They need to do that for the new wii zelda, like make as much in depth as they did with Majoras Mask.

Ex. Like how it's not really as linear as TP if you think about it, you still gotta go to temple A before temple B and eveything, but you can do so much more stuff outside the main quest, whereas TP you couldn't do so much more things outside the main quest.

The single player games are SO much more fun. I played Dark Alliance II with my brother and sister, a game where both characters are on the same screen and I had to keep nagging them to "get over here!" "stop walking around in circles -- I'm dying here!" "drink one of your potions! You're going to die!"
It was really annoying and I would never forgive Nintendo if they made a co op game.

You know what would be really cool that they could do with a co-op game on the Wii? Make it possible to play online with other people. I think it would be awesome to play a Zelda game with some of my friends around the world.
