Another game in the style of the original?

I think that could be cool. A massive 3D game in the same style as the original game. Minimum story, but much harder then recent Zelda games, options to do dungeons out of order, tons of exploring and very anti-linear. Make Hyrule Field full of interesting things to do, and infact the main part of the game.

There should also maybe be two towns or so with tons of sidequests.

As for the graphics...

I'm thinking a mixture between TWW and TP. Detail like TP, but the general art style from TWW and cel shading. Sort of like Toon Link from SSBB, but imagine that for the whole game.

As for what Link looks like, I'm thinking pretty much just like Toon Link from SSBB, but the retro costume. It'd be cool to see Link in the retro colors again, and it would really fit in with a game in style with the original Zelda.

So what you think?

people like this often use the absence of the developer's intent to proves something (obviously not a good theorist if you think that the absence of a developer's intent is in your favor)

Sounds great! We need Story and extra stuff to do though.

I think that this would be fantastic. The Zelda series should go back to its roots, with Link as a wondering swordsman caught up in an adventure to save a barren and apocalyptic Hyrule. The game has to feel like a true adventure, with Link practically on his own against Ganon and his minions. Rupees must be scarce, and Link must fight for every last one.

It should be very difficult, as both enemies and puzzles must provide a challenge. I think for this type of game the graphics need to be realistic, rather than cell-shaded. I have nothing against cell-shaded graphics, I just feel that they wouldn't fit this game. I also think there should be a strong story. Why exactly do we need to sacrifice the story?

So, ya, good idea.

I actually said this on another post, but no Zelda has really instilled a sense of dread within me (not even MM) I'd like a Zelda that has a real menace to it. (And I don't mean violence.) I mean colors, text, character design, weather, and moods. Catching' my drift?

I think cel shaded would be good. A combination of TWW & TP graphics would be wonderfully for a serious game.

And the story, well, it might be hard to integrate story into such an anti-linear game.

Keep TP graphics add a little cel shade. use different color fogs. ditch the greyness.
add blur to unfocused parts . add water to every little little detail. make things shine.
add a little bit of sunlight to dark rooms . more colors are needed . make noises come from every little nook and cranny. add music only to special scenes like villains or a fanfare, more like a movie.
