Do you think that Nintendo will announce a new Zelda game at E3?

It seems like it's been forever since we didn't really know what was going on behind the scenes in the Zelda universe (with Twilight Princess taking so long to develop and Phantom Hourglass right on it's heels).

So, I was wondering, simply, do you think they're going to announce the next Zelda at E3, or do you think they're going to make us wait a bit longer?

Do you even think they're working on the next Zelda game? I would assume that all logic points to "yes", but you never know..

I have a feeling that they might announce the next Zelda title at e3, because I've heard rumors that Nintendo has a "big announcement" in store. I've also heard they plan on releasing a sequel to Kid Icarus for the Wii, but I doubt that's the "big announcement", simply because, due to age and only one game in the series, it doesn't have the potential to really excite people, even though Pit was in Brawl...

We'll just have to wait and see, I guess. I have my hopes up, but who knows?

I'm sure they will announce it, but i'm sure it's not the "big" game coming out during the holidays.

You never know. If memory serves, wasn't a Zelda being developed for the Wii a year prior to TP's release? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I remember hearing. Anyways, it's certainly a possibility, if that's the case, that a new Zelda may be coming out sooner than we think.

However, I'm sure that development was not entirely consistent throughout, due to the decision halfway through the development of Twilight Princess to port it to the Wii as a launch title, et cetera.

If a new Zelda game isn't going to be announced at E3 then what will be? A new Mario Kart game? No. A new 3D Mario platformer? Galaxy just came out. A new Super Smash Bros. Game? Yeah right. A new star fox game for Wii? Maybe. A new family friendly game that uses Miis? Maybe. A new Metroid game? Prime 3 just came out and I heard that Dread was canceled. Zelda is one of Nintendo's biggest series and the last console game came out in 2006.

I don't know who these "sources" are, but I've heard similar rumors floating around the inter-webs, so that lends some credence to it, I suppose. *shrugs*

Those "similar rumors" all originated from the same "source." And I dont trust this source, since no one seems to have a clue who it is.

How can you be certain that ALL the rumors originated from the same source? I'm just saying, perhaps there actually is someone out there with reliable information, and this could very well be true.

Because "all" the rumors word the information in almost exactly the same way. It may be true, but think about this:
- Nintendo is ultra secretive. They've refused to tell anyone anything about what's coming at E3. If you saw the video with Reggie lately...you'd know exactly what I mean. So why would Nintendo allow someone to leak this information? They wouldn't.

for all we know, they could've been talking about PH.

i think it's quite possible that they'll announce a new zelda at E3.
i'll give a 75% chance they will.

A new Zelda has never at any time come out earlier than we think.

At this point, I will give it a 51% chance that we'll see something pertaining to Zelda at E3. And that's probably based more on hope than logic.


I'm glad this poll was started, I asked the same question on another thread and didn't get any responses.

Once July hits, it will have been...
Years since a new Zelda's been announced, and 9 months since the last Zelda release.
I checked back to when TP was announced, and it seems as though it was about the same timeframe(I may be wrong)

I dont see why there wouldn't be a Zelda announcement

51% as in slightly better than 50/50 chance of having something revealed. I'm trying not to get my hopes up here.

Twilight Princess is a PORT. It wasn't the Wii Zelda. So I would bet a Zelda should be coming soon.

Doesn't matter how secretive they are-- anything can be leaked. Just look at Apple, they're a very secretive company. But I remember the Iphone being leaked a year before it was announced.

E3= Electronic Entertainment Expo (or something like that). It's basically a big gaming convention where all the companies get to show off their fancy new toys and games. I don't know when it is, but I think it's sometime towards the end of May.

I do expect to see Nintendo announce a new Zelda at E3. I guess I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't, though, especially if they haven't been working on one since TP came out. I'm hoping they'll announce a new Metroid as well, and hopefully a new franchise that could be as big as Zelda or Mario. Not saying they will, just saying I'm hoping.

Oh yeah, I hope Ninty announces a new Zelda for the Wii sometime soon. I wonder what this game will be about. I mean, it'll obviously be very different, seeing as Miyamoto stated that TP is the last Zelda in its form. It makes me wonder...

Its likely that they will announce a new Zelda in E3. I hope so too, the quicker they announce the next Zelda.... the sooner it is released.
