My ideas.

Okay, first, I'd like to say that I'm perfectly fine with the way the Zelda franchise is as of this moment, and I don't really see the need for any sort of radical change. However, if there were to be changes, here are things I wouldn't mind seeing...some of you may differ vastly in your opinions on where the series should go, and some might not like my ideas, either. I know for a fact that I really don't agree with some of the ideas I've read about, not just here, but everywhere across the internet, though I've stumbled across some good ideas, too. Anyways...

Utilizing Wi-Fi functionality in a way that does not detract from the "essence" of Zelda
I like the FS games, but I think the Zelda series could do more in the ways of multiplayer. For example...I think a custom dungeon-builder would be great, if implemented properly. Somewhat similar to Brawl's custom stage editor, but expanded upon greatly, with a much greater array of options for puzzles, enemies, et cetera.

Players could create any sort of dungeon at any level of difficulty they so desired, within the limitations of the resources available, of course. That being said, it would be great to have many resources straight from the get-go, and with Wi-Fi, Nintendo could potentially release new content/resources/et cetera every so often...something I think they could have done with Brawl.

Dungeons could be sent to a friend via Wi-Fi, or simply uploaded to a dungeon-selection menu of sorts. Think about it...with so much available to you, it'd be hard to get bored.

However, this is a concept that I don't think Nintendo will really dwell on any time soon, if ever, especially since the next Wii Zelda has been in development for quite some time already. It's an interesting idea, I think, and really has a lot of potential, if implemented correctly...and knowing Nintendo, I would be surprised if it wasn't.

These custom dungeons could either be played through individually, or with another player(s)...some dungeons could even contain puzzles that could only be solved by utilizing multiple players and items at one time. This opens up a lot of room for brand new, innovative puzzles, and players could no longer complain about how something isn't quite to their liking, if they could make a dungeon however they wanted.

There could also be a sort of trading/gift system that could come in handy, too. You could sell/trade certain resources you have with other players via Wi-Fi, opening up further possibilities in creating a custom dungeon. Nintendo could also include rare resources that players could invest in, thus acting as an incentive to sell/trade online.

Mini-Games have also long served as entertainment in Zelda titles, and with Wi-Fi, you would be able to play any of the mini-games you've played so far in the main quest online with a friend or a random challenger. Wins and losses, along with other statistics, could be kept as records, and fulfilling certain pre-requisite conditions could unlock bonus content in the actual game, as well.

The Actual Game
At the end of the day, however, Zelda games have always been a largely individual experience, and while I'd like to see how some of these ideas would work out once built upon, I doubt it'll happen anytime soon. It may be neat, though.

For the actual game, I think the inclusion of difficulty settings would definitely silence the many fans complaining about the games being too easy as of late. Something that I, personally, don't have much of a problem with, but I would like to see implemented anyways simply to avoid complaints in that particular area. It would add further replay value, too, even though the online components would offer enough content to last for a very, very long time.

The addition of robust Wi-Fi functionality would be no excuse to go lax on the true meat of the game - that being the single player experience -, and I would be surprised if that were the case.

The game world could be slightly bigger than that of Twilight Princess, or even bigger, for that matter. I'd like to see more weather effects, such as changing seasons and more enemy variation in accordance to the time of day/weather/et cetera. Though the aforementioned enemy variation is present to some degree in current Zelda titles, I would like to see more, but this might just be me being picky.

Locations would keep with the Zelda tradition in offering the beautiful, traditional areas we've grown accustomed to seeing, but it would be cool if there were brand new places we've never dreamed of before, as well. Not too much of a departure, however...no "futuristic" elements. I wouldn't want that in a Zelda game. But something unexpected would be nice, regardless.

I loved Twilight Princess, and the only complaints I have about it are very minor; nonetheless, I can think of a few areas that could have been fleshed out further, such as available weapons (not items, mind you...weapons as in swords and shields) available. I'd like more than two swords and two shields, and it would be great to see what Nintendo would come up with.

This goes for the armor, too; the Magic Armor in TP looks awesome enough, but it's hardly usable unless you're willing to constantly build up your supply of rupees. I'd like to see more armor available, as well.

In conclusion, I'd like to say that these are all ideas I've thought up relatively recently; none are particularly fleshed out or realistic, though I thought it would be interesting to speculate on the possibility of any of these aspects being included in a future Zelda title, anyways. Tell me what you think!

I can sum this whole first post up: Nintendo needs to give Zelda Wifi and a better world than TP.

PS I agree, but there are a few other things Zelda needs.

That took quite a bit to read but theres hardly any thing I disagree with.
Thanks, I'm glad you share my opinions.

I was fine with the world in TP, but it'd be cool if they expanded further in what they could potentially do.

I can respect the first part about the Dungeon CUstomization
-Especially since people can create hard puzzles for eachother
And making them like four swords online in 3d
-Something nintendo is familiar with and has been used in previous Zelda Titles

I definitly agree that Zelda in essence should remain to satisfy the single player gamer and appease people with a difficulty Setting

I like these ideas
Is there anything that you think should be thought through a bit more? Looks pretty solid to me...

Well, there's definitely more to elaborate on, I think, and really, I was just pulling these ideas out of my...hat. Hadn't really given much thought to it before posting...but I like the ideas, and I'm glad other people do, as well.
