I don't think Zelda would work in multiplayer. Whenever two players meet, they'd Z-target and circle each other, blocking every bloody attack, until some clever sod picks them off with a bow.
Zelda should remain single-player.

They need to add a difficulty system.
That would solve all issues of appealing to all ages.
