So let's try this again...

I decided to start posting again and figured this self promoting goodness was a nice start. A long time ago, I concocted a theory using bits and scraps of...basically "nonsense" in an attempt to name the next zelda game at the time, Twilight Princess. Here is the original thread.

Now here comes the point I'm trying to make. Is it fair to say I was right? If so, is it within the realm of reason to assume the next major zelda title will feature Link: The Hero of Waters? If you want to continue on that tangent (and if you don't I dont blame you), is it possible this might be a Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass sequel?

It's wayyyyy to early to speculate, but that never stopped me.

if it was a ww/ph sequel, it would feature Link: the hero of winds, no hero of waters as of yet,

I think Nintendo will keep the WW/PH sequence going bc it appeals to the very young. I expect the Zelda games to alternate from a TP like mature appeal to the WW/PH style regularly with a few games in between to blur the lines.

Well I just read your first thread about your theory. You definitely thought about it and seemed to have a pretty good tangent going there. I don't know if you can consider "Phantom" and "Shadow" one in the same, though they are similar. Now, if your theory is indeed correct though, and the next title includes "Water", I could see one possible storyline. The Hyrule of the past as WW described is buried in the oceans, but the game didn't delve into the sunken city to my liking. What if they combined the basic concept of another deminsion like the Twilight one, but with the Sunken Hyrule, where link travels back and forth between the present islands, and the sunken city, possibly running amongst the Hylian spirits. Which brings me to a point by itself:
For the two different timelines of the Zelda universe, there's a twilight dimension for the Child timeline, but is there one for the Adult timeline? If so this could play out VERY well with your theory (if it is true).
Also, just because it's in the Adult timeline (timeline of the great flood, etc.) doesn't mean it has to be a sequel to WW/PH per se, it could feature a new Link to explore even farther in the future of the Zelda series, atleast in that timeline.

If it's about water, it might take place during the flood/after it. But they'll have to come up with great excuses for putting a Link during the flood, though.

hero of time turns up too late to be able to save anyone, and the best he can do is split up triforce of courage into 8 and placing it around Hyrule, but has to go through dungeons for suitable places to put said triforce pieces

Hero of time puts them in chests, and the dungeons the triforce pieces were hidden were probably not built to withstand a gigantic flood
